I'm watching the rerun of the series premiere movies now. It's pretty good so far. The new robot cylons are cool looking and the nympho blonde cylon is hot, but I really think there should be more of the former than the latter and the odds of that seem mighty slim.

I'm liking Lady Starbuck. Apollo Junior looks like a bit of a cock, though.

...the nympho blonde cylon is hot...

This will be nothing like the old series, will it?

The cylons were bound to make some strides forward in 40 years. They need the nympho blondes to fuck their way into the defense mainframe, donchaknow.

P.S. - She's number 6 of 12 models. But her rack is pretty small, so you see they're not ripping off Seven of Nine at all.

That, and sex sells.

Okay well, the whole middle chunk is boring the shit out of me. I hate endless battle sequences and awkward staged chaos. I'm letting it go for now, though, because they do have to set up the story after all.

The dearth of cool robot cylons proceeds apace.

There were more robot Cylons in the series premiere last Friday, but not many more. I love the space battles, for reasons I went into at II last year and would be happy to get into again. I'm also liking the writing, so far.

I'm reminded of an episode of Futurama that had a performance from Cylon and Garfunkel. :D

OMG, that brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.

:yup: Futurama really is a brilliant show...if money weren't quite so tight, I'd get the other 2 box-sets that I don't have in a heartbeat.

I got the last two, which is to say the first two, I mean...

I got volumes one and two for christmas, which completed the set for me, having already owned volumes three and four. Yay! I love them all.

Cool! I'm still missing the first two (and by the first, two, I really mean Volumes I and II).

Ah, so you collected them backwards just like me! What's up with that? :P Well, you've got "Anthology of Interest 2," which in my opinion, is the better of the two anthologies. ;)

I didn't understand the premiere. Why would the Cylons capture and then so obviously booby-trap the ship that they were tracking in the fleet?

Or was it a double smokescreen too subtle for my admittedly concussed noggin?

I'm fucked if I know, Clutch. That goes in the whole battle, chaos, don't really know who's doing what mele for me. Godless Dave?

I liked the whole "I'm getting a hand-job from an invisible blonde chick in front of a whole lotta people" shtick.

Oh yeah, that was good clean fun. One of these days someone's gonna be all "should we really be deciding who's human or not based solely on the Great Masturbator's impressions?"

Hmm... I loved the original series when I was a kid. Is it on network TV or cable?

It's on the SciFi Network if I'm not mistaken.

Oh well, thanks Michael.

I saw the pilot episode on dvd at Blockbuster's the other day, so it's apparently already out on dvd. I imagine they'll release the entire first season on dvd about 10 minutes after the last episode airs.

Cheers,

Michael

I've been pondering this for a while and I think I've figured it out. The Cylons staged the event to fuck with Baltar's head. The message from the guy on the ship that he had evidence of a human traitor was faked by the Cylons; it was intended to make Baltar nervous so number 6 could more easily manipulate him. I think Baltar is part of the Cylons' plan. I don't know if he has a chip in his head receiving transmissions that make him hallucinate number 6 or if she's a program running independently. But she's not just a guilt-induced hallucination. Did you see the episode where she wanted him to get hold of a nuclear warhead?
