... You won't get it!
Some of you may recognise that from the opening credits to every episode of The Prisoner (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Prisoner). It's always been one of my favourite shows. Once again proving I married the best lady in the land, my lovely wife gave me the complete DVD set of The Prisoner for Christmas. We've watched the first 7 episodes and it truly is a masterpiece. However, not only did she get me the DVD set, no, that would merely make her a great wife. She also got us a long weekend stay in The Village! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Village_%28The_Prisoner%29)
I must say, it was AWESOME! :yup: We even managed to escape, though it could be some elaborate rouse and we may yet end up back in the Village in the last couple minutes of the episode...
Here are some of the pics I took:
1) The Green Dome (now grey)

2) This is a pic of looking back on the Village from one of the woodland walks, you can see the Hotel in the foreground and the fake ship which is often on The Prisoner.

3) Here are a couple of pics of the Village, the colours are still just as varied and crazy as on the show. It was quite the place, an interesting collection of different architecture, but all in miniature!

4) Finally, here is a shot of Number 6's place. The round house in the middle. You can see the little balcony that he would sometimes stand on and once jumped from at night to get out when the doors were locked.

All in all it was a fantastic stay really. The views and the scenery were incredible, the whole village is built into some cliffs and there are just beautiful views everywhere. We stayed in a little self-catering apartment above one of the cafes. The village is pretty small and it's a short 5 minute walk to anywhere. But they have some awesome paths cut through the woods and you can go on nice long walks for a couple of hours. It was really cool, I loved it.
