View Full Version : What turns you on?

I was going to post about this in the fetish thread, but it turned to poo, so I'll make a new one.

What turrns you on? Either like a specific fantasy, maybe a fetish, or perhaps just a general sort of thing. There's probably a few things.

Is there anything you crave sexually you don't often get, or are afraid to mention to your partner?

I'll start... In the next post.

Right, in an abstract sense... For as long as I can remember having any sort of sexual feelings I've always had strong sexual responses to feel and smell. For feel it's specifically fabrics, mostly satin and silk, but also things like polarfleece, furs and other very tactile fabrics. Smell is by far my biggest 'trigger' generally, either a perfume, or more often the smell of a person, or of 'sex'. But also sometimes some foreign smells, occasionally the smell of someone's car, or something.

None of these things are extremly important to me sexually, I certainly don't need a certain texture or smell to perform sexually or become aroused, but they are things that often trigger little fantasies or add something to an experience.

Then there's one other little weird attraction/fantasy thing -- girls in cars. It's weird. It's not specifically any cars or anything, or even any specific sort of girl, but I often find the sight of a girl alone in a car to be somewhat attractive.

The other two things manifest themselves occasionally into little mini-fantasies on the street or whatever. When I see a girl wearing something made of a fabric that I imagine to be quite tactile I sometimes have little momentary fantasies about touching them and holding them (this is seeming a little weird when I write it). And also often the smell of a girl as she walks past can set my mind wandering - either reminding me of something from the past, or triggering another little fantasy.

So that's my things.

The smell of soap on my husband. I suppose the scent brings back some erotic imagery.

Scent is supposedly one of the strongest memory triggers. They say that the smell of pumpkin pie is one that gets men all, I don't know lol what they say is "all" but, it's supposed to be good for men. I wish I had a link to that info because the case was interesting from the same people who study pheramones and the like.

I can really only consciously identify the scents of two people, my mother and my husband. Snuggle up with my husband, he's like, what are you smelling my armpits for? :D If there's no BO of course, he smells damn good. Mmmmm, man-flesh (some men). :heybabeh:

I can relate here. A few years back, driving on the major interstate that runs through OKC, I found myself alongside a lady (must've been in her 20s, early 30s) driving a Jeep. It was your typical OKC spring day (high 70s) and she had the doors off (but the top was on). She was wearing a short skirt. Nothing "naughty" was revealed, but an awesome shot of her leg (very tanned, nicely muscular) was to be had.

To this day... oy... I remember that leg. On that alone, she was hot.

*Sigh* I am a huge voice person. A soothing voice can calm me. I have, in the past, ended up with hours long conversations with TECO, IRS, and Verizon reps because their voices were so soothing. I would make sure I would tell them, male or female, that They had the most calming voices. British voices can do that to me as well, but not all areas. Some Brit voices are a little irritating because I can barely make out what is said.

Simple answer...a lot of things, combinations...

Seems like there are combinations of appearance related things that don't always work the same way. For example...there's a certain dark haired short hair cut look...combined with a fairly thin body...that just about melts me, or energizes me depending on what part. But then...some other combinations with long hair...blonde...dark...also catch me. And, although I don't tend to think of somewhat heavier women as sexy when I see them at a distance or whatever...sometimes in close proximity I find them incredibly sexy.

Voice, smell...yep. Those can do it too. And as I get to know someone...there is a certain kind of softness that I can't really explain...

Perhaps I'm just really easy. Not that it works out in any way in real life...just imagination.

Irish or Scottish accents. Or a really nice, soft Yorkshire accent. A proper Yorkshire accent, not one of those Leeds types. Eugh.
But, yeah. If a cute girl with an Irish accent so much as smiles at me, I don't stand a chance.

Correct usage of commonly-misused words. Wits are sexy.

Actually, what has the greatest effect for me is knowing that my partner is interested. Nothing is more arousing than the thought that something about me turns her on.

I've also dabbled in foreign dialects, dressed up in period costume, and even built and decorated complicated settings, but I must admit I enjoyed that a lot, too.

I am turned on by spanking girls, but only if she likes it.

-bare shoulders.

-historical or sci-fi costumes.

-black nylons.

-sexy lingerie, especially leather, especially with metal zippers, rings, or fasteners.

-sports bra with baggy athletic shorts.

-jeans with no top.

I knew my turn-ons were boring, but I didn't know they were thread-killing boring!

More:

Irish accents

Sports bra with running pants

Pierced nipples (although the novelty of this would probably wear off pretty quick)

Hmmm... Everything mentioned is worthy.

Female. Intelligent. Little or no makeup.

Freckles slay me....particularly across the bridge of the nose. Lightly.

I saw it today on the bus....a nice looking woman, but not particularly beautiful, rather Mediterranean looking...or native American mix. When she smiled, her eyes kinda squinted, she had cute little wrinkies at the corners of her eyes, and her eyes sparkled. Ordinary looking to ravishing in one laugh. :lovey: I really like that in a woman. (She, of course, is wearing a wedding band, so it was limited to a brief flash of complete adulation on my part.)

I think women in glasses are...I dunno...a bit more attractive. It's like glasses are lingerie for the face. They can attract me and make me desire to remove them....like lingerie. Then, some are just butt ugly.

Although I, too, like the nape of the neck, I like cheeks. Top and bottom. "Backfield in motion" is my favorite sport term...and I understand it's no longer a penalty. Most provocative pose: Derriere in the air, looking back at me with a lingering invitation.

I still like the thigh-high stockings only look. Not on me, though, that'd look stupid.

I'm partial to fingers run through my hair (what little there is left) and fingertips ever-so-lightly across the top of my broad shoulders.

Showering together is tres fun.

Like most males I know, I'm primarily visual/tactile but smells occasionally make a difference. If it's a scent, it must be very, very light. The smell of a woman is intoxicating itself, without any synthetic assistance. I did notice last year that when the star jasmine was in bloom that I experienced an upsurge in sexual energy....but then, it was June, too. I do think of star jasmine as an erotic scent. The other is a learned thing (and I know where I learned it): Johnson's baby powder - an erotic scent for me.

Rosencrantz says: "Actually, what has the greatest effect for me is knowing that my partner is interested. Nothing is more arousing than the thought that something about me turns her on." I agree. This is A-#1 most important.

Me? She's lookin' at me like...? Nooooo.....YES!

Hmmmm where do i start....

A man who is comfortable within himself and where is he at.
" Hey babe, check out my fast car and $3000 watch..." gets put into the wanker catagory.

Knowing i look good and feel good to myself and to the other person always works.
Not that number 1 husband ever does, but men wearing just a hint of really nice aftershave always makes me stop and perv.

Those really cute crinkles around his eyes when he laughs, (god i must be getting old, finding wrinkles sexy...)

Lazy mornings when there is nothing plannned.

Any day ending with Y

And, watch out with the Hai Karate. He mistakes top rate single malt whiskey for aftershave, he just might do the opposite, too. So, if you meet a guy with ratty khakis, a cheap watch and breath that reeks of Hai Karate, you'll know you've met Warrenly.

*ahem*, alright, alright, "interested" men in jeans particularily. :D

For me not naked men, not beautiful men, men in jeans.

Oh, and something primal. There's this sound that the lead singer of Pearl Jam utters in the song "Even Flow", a sound I probably will never forget. Nothwithstanding his beautiful voice, this sound is kinda like what a stallion might make after a good run but the human male version. It's primal...yes *cough*... yes it is.

Physical, emotional and mental intimacy with a touch of abandon turns me on. :)
(when it's received from the object of my sexual desire that is.)

In a general sense this could pretty much encompass a lot of what has been said earlier by others. It's the dropping of barriers to intimacy and the many and varied suggestive ways we can do this that all have potential to be a turn on, if I am receptive to the message at the time.

Hmmm... pumpkin pie, eh? I must admit I like the smell of pumpkin pie, but it just makes me hungry. I love the flavor, but the smell pales in comparison to fresh warm apple pie.

Fresh ground coffee (which used to be a newly opened can of ground coffee) is heavenly. As for erotic scents, jasmine blossom on a warm June night will do it every time. So will the scent of Johnson's baby powder (that one is learned, and I know where from, too).

I would have to say all the above. There is something about a guy in well pressed and fitted clothes (including jeans) that will turn a womans head. A guy in a suit works too. I think it is because we see guys dressed so casually these days that when they take that extra care it is very easy on the eyes. Guys can clean up nicely when they want to and it will set the mood for whatever you are trying to achieve for the day/evening. Lots of things scent, dress, touch, longing glances, a firm embrace, soft kisses on the neck, ears, face. I can't really pick just one particular thing that turns me on as much as it is a combination of things.

Well, iw,

Put me in excess clothing (a jacket, indoors, when none is necessary) and I'll be sweaty. Guaranteed. Make me wear a tie (aka "leash") and I'll be crotchety as all getout. That's about as far from as turned on as I can get.

What you're describing, by the way, is not a suit, but a slacks and a sport jacket. I wear khaki/olive slacks all the time, because I don't like denim (it's too heavy). Most of the time I wear teeshirts (usually with travel locale logos), but I do have a small collection of Eddie Bauer's absolutely no-iron cotton plaid button shirts with actual collars. Button-down, of course. The sport jacket is still waaaaaay too much in my book.

Other than my full-mufti Scots kilt and sporran, that's as "formal" as I get.

I prefer a suit, but for a more causal evening a sports jacket and slacks work. As far as the leash is concerned, I prefer it to be with a suit.
Sports jackets look great with different types of shirts even "T" shirts (Don Johnson) depending on the occasion. If you are wondering, Warrenly wears a jacket or suit only if the occasion calls for it. Which is hardly ever.

I like a guy in a suit, tie and all. Black jacket and pant, white or grey silk long sleeve shirt, and a silk tie with tiny black, off black, and grey boxes (or at least an elegant blend of these colors). ~ Yes, I prefer one particular look and dress my husband accordingly when we go out. When I am in downtown, usually only the men fitting this dress description catches a discrete second glance from me.

Thigh highs are not too comfortable, either, if they are the garterless kind. Freckles are usually the result of sun damage. ;)

My husband goes out with me anytime we get the chance to and he dresses according to occasion. His job requires him to be grubby all day, he enjoys donning something nice. He also enjoys my reaction to it. Going to the Applebee's or a hard core concert does not require a suit. Going to a wedding or banquet or show normally does.

Damage? Heavens, my skin has been "damaged" all these years? I learned this mantra from my dermatologist: "Tanned skin is damaged skin." He's also pushing the phrase, "You're looking pale and healthy."
