Sorry, all the job angst is getting to me. Thought people might be cheered up to know that I'm doing very well, thank you.

I am still in training, and I feel like it will never end. That's great for me. I am getting paid to learn. I already earned real-life, accredited, transferable college credit at basic training and tech school. Roughly 36 semester hours. Not too shabby! Now I spend my mornings studying my CDCs (carreer development courses) and my afternoons watching ST:TNG on Spike TV in the casual office. They said in the olden days we would get right to work and have to study CDCs on our own time, but times have changed and now my whole job is studying. After I finish CDCs, I'll go in for a battery of tests to determine where they might want to put me to work (yes actual work after almost a year of training), and depending on how I do on my tests, they might send me in for more training! Yay! Apparently they are in the market for computer programmers, and those who do well on that particular test get sent to the local college to take programming courses. And get paid to do it! Here's hoping! Woot!

Well, I think that rocks, and I'm glad to hear it.

Man, I totally should've joined the Air Force instead of the Army. I had squat in the way of college credits to show for basic training, and squat to show for the next two years I was in. Scumbags. :madrant:

I'm glad things are going well for you though. :)

Well, BMT was 'only' 3 semester hours. The other 33 came from my very intensive tech school. But, yah, it is gud. :)

I'd like to take this opportunity to announce that I envy each and every one of you computer tech/programmer types.

You are wizards to this peasant farmer.

Those are wizard sparklies. These are bubbles: :bubbles: Clearly your study time needs to include more perusal of the smiley stash.

They're still not round. It's okay. I'd be angry, too.

Actually, I love my job too. I get paid to learn about things and then write about them. It's ideal. I even get to do some paid editing now.

I mean, imagine being able to flame someone for spelling and grammar, edit their post, and GET PAID FOR IT.

Apparently nobody makes good enough legal drugs to make me love my job.

How can you be sure, warrenly? Have you tried them all? Because there are some serious legal drugs out there.
