Sorry, all the job angst is getting to me. Thought people might be cheered up to know that I'm doing very well, thank you.
I am still in training, and I feel like it will never end. That's great for me. I am getting paid to learn. I already earned real-life, accredited, transferable college credit at basic training and tech school. Roughly 36 semester hours. Not too shabby! Now I spend my mornings studying my CDCs (carreer development courses) and my afternoons watching ST:TNG on Spike TV in the casual office. They said in the olden days we would get right to work and have to study CDCs on our own time, but times have changed and now my whole job is studying. After I finish CDCs, I'll go in for a battery of tests to determine where they might want to put me to work (yes actual work after almost a year of training), and depending on how I do on my tests, they might send me in for more training! Yay! Apparently they are in the market for computer programmers, and those who do well on that particular test get sent to the local college to take programming courses. And get paid to do it! Here's hoping! Woot!
