I found a 6-pack of TaB (diet soda) this past week at the grocery store! I thought they had stopped making it. Call me crazy, but I thought it was a really exciting find. So, as a public service, I'm mentioning it here to anyone who's given up hope of ever seeing that distinctive pink can again -- it's out there, keep looking. :)

I normally don't drink caffeine anymore because I have anxiety issues, but I've had to make an exception for this. One can each day when I wake up shouldn't kill me. My grandfather used to drink it all the time back in the day. :)

Truthfully, I didn't remember liking TaB as a kid, but I always get excited to see old things brought back or resurface, and it turns out my adult taste buds love the stuff. I shave with shaving cream that's actually cream, and brush with toothpaste that's actually paste (No gels on my face or my teeth, thank you. :) ). There's something to be said for tradition. :)

Granted, all this isn't as cool as when they brought back the McChicken sandwich. I complained about it disappearing to anyone who would listen for like 10 years straight and then one day, there it was again! :)

Or you could tell us the name of the store where you found it.

It was a Wal-Mart, but I doubt they've brought them back at Wal-Mart's nationwide. I suppose it'd be a good place for interested folks to starting looking, though, since we now know at least one Wal-Mart carries them.

They sell Tab at my local Kroger. I wasn't aware it was a rarity.

Are they going to bring back the Moron TaB & Apple Choir?

They don't sell Cheerwine in TN anymore? I  Cheerwine. I was excited when I found two dusty 12-packs on sale in the corner market here, a week before it closed. It was odd because Bloomington appears to be outside of the regular distribution network. I bought them both.

Evidently they're sending shiploads of it to Norway.

The most likely reason you didn't like TaB as a child was because after 1969 it was sweetened with saccharin, before that the much maligned cyclamates. Saccharin is sweet to some, bitter to many, extremely bitter to a few of us unlucky supertasters. Since 1984 it has been sweetened by a blend of saccharin and aspartame, which makes it different than any other diet soft drink.

I've seen this in gas stations

However, I haven't been brave enough to try it.

"Hmm ... Press Any Key ... where's the Any key? There doesn't seem to be any Any key! Whew, this computer stuff is harder than I thought. Think I'll order a Tab. Whoops, no time for that now, the computer's starting!"

I remember that stuff from when I were a wee 'un. I found it bitter to the point of nasty. Dag-nasty. :yuck:

Ding nasty.

I just didn't like the aftertaste. Of any artificial sweetner.

Plus, I hear they make you fat. Now that's an irony.

However, I haven't been brave enough to try it.That's not regular, real Tab. That's the new "energy drink" with the Tab name. It's like a wannabe Red Bull. :sadcheer:

I have not seen real Tab (which tastes like a weirdly sweetened cola) in years. I love that stuff. I'm a big fan of saccharin (prefer Sweet'n'Low to Equal, for example).

Hmm, they sell Cheerwine at the local Wal-Mart where I live. I guess it helps that I have a local distributor in the same city.

Can it be likened to anything over hear in the UK? I've never tasted the stuff although I've heard of it frequently.
