Gods rest you, Gary Gygax (http://www.startribune.com/entertainment/tv/16218352.html). Your ideas helped make my life so much more fun.

Too bad there isn't a local cleric willing to sell his wife a casting of Resurrection.

Sad news. :(

Goodbye Gary, and thank you very much. You gave me many hours of enthrallment in my teens and made my conscript life in the evil Apartheid army tolerable.

Damn, I was just coming here to post the news. I guess I'll have to settle with this image:

He was older than I thought he was, but still too young to die.

Here's Stephen Colbert's briefest of eulogies in a clip (http://www.milkandcookies.com/link/96098/detail/) from his show for Gary Gygax. Colbert played D&D extensively and you can find interviews with him on the subject on the web.

Thanks, Gary.

It's sad news alright.

Webcomics xkcd (http://xkcd.com/393/), Questionable Content (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1094), and Order of the Stick (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0536.html#)all have tributes (some more obvious than others). I suspect many others have something up too. (Not check Penny Arcade or PhD Comics).
