Anyone else played it?
So far, these are my impressions:
Cutscenes: Liberal doses so far.
Graphics overall: Very pretty. It just killed my graphics card on high. As in, fried it. Had to borrow a GeForce from work to continue using computer. But very pretty
Character Graphics: Having met a few of the characters from the series so far, I'm impressed with how close the character models and animations are to the characters in the series. Kate is almost as cute as she is in the series. Nice. Wondering if there's a "hot coffee" mod for the game, but I doubt it.
Mood: The music, scenery, effects and cutscenes combine pretty well so far to make it feel like a Lost episode
Gameplay: The first thing I noticed is liberal use of minigames. I like minigames, especially when they're reasonably challenging, relevant to the game and intelligent. But here's my first big gripe: They have a lot of irritating control choices.
I hate it when games make you use keyboard and mouse one minute, then all keyboard the next. Lost doesn't quite do that, but the minigames are much easier using the keyboard only, having the same effect.
For instance, in the much used flashback minigame, I find the camera infuriating to control properly with the mouse.
Script: So far seems very "Lost"-ish. Apparently it was scripted by the the original scriptwriters for the series. BTW, since I haven't mentioned it, you play a new, previously unknown character.
Reviews: The online reviews mostly give this game a "meh" rating (around 50% on average). Most common criticism: Its way too short to justify the price (5-7hours). I only read the reviews after making the purchase because I'm a tard that way. Still, seems like I might get some enjoyment out of it.
