Dying with serenity

I just had a customer inform me she has about a week left and she was settling her affairs. Her tone of voice made it sound like nothing more than a weekend trip to Toledo. We spoke for a few minutes to settle up our business, and I expressed my condolences and admiration for her calm, "Let's get it done so nobody else has to" attitude.

I was really touched, and hope that if someday I know I have only a short time, I can be as serene and strong.

Telecommunications. She subscribes to our service as part of her network marketing business, and wanted to ensure her account would be okay if she died before her next billing. She actually wanted to give me a new credit card to ensure there would be no issues.

I suppose that not only is it better for those around her, but one could argue that it's best not to waste the short time she has left in some sort of hysteria.

I'm not sure that I'd be able to be so calm, though!
