It's so good to laugh. It aids digestion, relieves cramps and combats aging. :doctor: :professor: :preach:

How 'bout it? :)

How 'bout it? :)There is already a large humor forum at the IIDB, and there is nothing you could post in the FF humor forum that you couldn't also see in the IIDB humor forum. The FF is good for having forums that are distinct from the IIDB.

By that logic, perhaps we should't have Politics or Science forums either!

Needless to say I disagree. Not everyone here is a regular member of IIDB, to start with.

The only advantage I can see is that the FF has lengthy discussions with a small number of people you know rather than a large number of flamers like at IIDB. I don't think a humor forum at FF would share that advantage, since there are no lengthy discussions. Such threads are a series of witty one-liners, and the more people there are, the funnier it is.

True, I suppose. I guess The Watering Hole can take on the humourous threads as it's more of a social thing that a discussion thing. I guess I see a Humour forum as kinda like the arcade - a place to relax and have some fun for a bit.

Adding fibre to one's diet helps.

Funny threads can be started where they're topical or in the Hole if they're general, and we've seen all kinds of serious but not dedicatedly so threads veer off into humor. Your recent SpongeBob thread is a good example of this, luna.

Do you think adding a humor forum would provide something above and beyond that?

Do you think adding a humor forum would provide something above and beyond that?On reflection, no not really. It was a frivolous moment of inspiration that grabbed me as I giggled my way through Daily Show clips, Onion articles, BoroNut threads, and funny Australian ads.

I jus' inna giggly-gertie mood. :giggle:

And now I'm hungry, so I'm off to the FF food hall. :hungry:

Humor forums tend to be not particularly funny, imho. It's like that quote I saw in the list up there one day; "Discussing humor is like dissecting a frog. Most people don't find it interesting, and the frog dies of it." Jokes aren't funny when they're expected and in place,

We don't need a special forum in which we're allowed to be human and make jokes, we can be funny anywhere.
