for those of you who read nontheistnexus (http://nontheistnexus.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=101&Itemid=109), those are my shoes and some stitching.

I wonm a 2nd place ribbon for the butterfly one at a national contest, and I just taught it, professionally, for the first time.

There just isn't a smilely here to capture how I feel... ;)

Thank you--- and thanks for providing a link--- I fixed mine.

I'd love to hear what people *think* about the shoes... I unloaded a whole spice rack of symbolism into them... I'd like to know what came through...

Ooooh, they are good. Love the spider web and the Arab coin chain thing.

I give it 4 Snoopies

Pardon my stupid question... but do you wear them or are they just for display?

(Nice job, by the way)

I struggled with that--- decided to not wear them and they are lined with fur and broken glass.

:D

The coins are actual belly dance coins collected off the stage after shows... The feathers (also lining them) are from a vegas style headdress.

Yes--- there's a snake crawling up the heel on one. There's a caterpillar on the other.

I dunno if this (http://rationalpagans.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=529)is open to viewing or not... but you can join... ;) It may have bigger pics.

The girl's name was Elsie Paroubek. Look up Henry Darger for her story, but it's not really that important. I picked it as an avatar because it's just haunting.

It's not open to viewing. Not sure if they'd want me as a member though, being neither rational nor pagan.

Very cool, Jess.

And hey, I recently wrote an article (http://nontheistnexus.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=111&Itemid=105) for the Nexus.

NEWS:

I got juried into Fiber Forum (http://www.egausa.org/html/fiiber_forum.html), an artists group for embroiderers.

A jury of my peers have accepted me as one of their own. I am now an official needle artist.

For my shoes (seen in theApril Nontheist Nexus (http://nontheistnexus.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=101&Itemid=109)) and phoenix.

I have a bottle of sparkling wine/erzatz champagne chilling in the fridge as I type.

Go ME!
