Away message? Why? Doesn't the system just time you out? Does setting an away message keep you on past the time out time? Out of curiosity, why did you put that option? :chin: I always thought away messages were more of a real time chat thing than a bulletin board thing.
Why can't I ignore forums? I can ignore threads and posts (or is it posters?) but I can't go up one more level and ignore a forum? It would be a non-issue, except for the new subforum. From the index page I can't distinguish the sub forum from the forum.
Thanks!

It's so that people can alert folks who might be PMing them or seeking a response from them that they're going to be offline for a while. Goliath used it, for example, when he was at a math conference earlier this month. This came in handy when xouper had a question for him because he knew Goliath wouldn't be around to answer it for a week.
IOW, it's not a brb; it's a don't freak if I can't answer you for the next 10 days message.

The ignore threads and posts features are custom hacks, ignoring posters is a default vB option. I'll pretend I'm not crushed by your wanting to ignore the Reading Group and say that's a really good idea for a hack. I'll leave vm to comment on the technical issue.
