OK, I realize that for some of youse, it's *early*, but you know what I mean (hopefully) ;)
Can't sleep. The wheels-a-turning in the grey matter never seems to stop without chemical assistance, which I am currently forgoing. What's a girl to do? :banghead:
 Hello!
Off to try to sleep once more...

Not post-slutting, I swear, but I thought of something I could do to expend some nervous energy :) I shall post the lyrics to my favorite song of the day:
I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone
I walk this empty street
On the boulevard of broken dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk alone
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone
I'm walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the borderline of the edge
And where I walk alone
Read between the lines of what's
fucked up and everything's alright
Check my vital signs to know I'm still alive
And I walk alone
(Repeat chorus)

I dunno. I don't recommend banging your head against a brick wall to help you sleep though.
As for me, I'm bored. I was thinking about heading for bed to go read my book. I just started reading The Zanzibar Chest by Aidan Hartley this afternoon. I think it's going to be both an engaging and a horrfying book.
That's about it for me, really. Sorry to be so boring.

Zoe just loves that song, and I have had to listen to it over and over again these past few weeks. I know it so well by now that I could sing it backwards and in tongues.

I can't hear "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" without thinking of Morton Downy, Jr. Absolutely ruins the song for me.
Just call me killjoy, I know.

It's not my fault, Lauri. Whenever I hear that song, I immediately hear a young Mortin Downy, Jr. doing call and response with his own song of that name in the background.
(I know you know who I am talking about Petra. He has to be one of the most obnoxious Americans to ever have gotten under your skin. And I KNOW he would have gotten under your skin in that particlar way that we Americans do. ...the chain smoking talk show host? When he was younger, he had a hit song. And you'll never guess what it's title was.)

Nope, never heard of him. Just looked him up on the net, though - I've heard of his son, natch.
But as for talk show hosts during the 80's - I was livin' the high life back then - only thing I watched was Hitchhikers Guide, The Young Ones and Ab Fab, I think. Oh, and Live Aid.
And talk shows weren't exactly the rage here in NZ back then. We had a much stronger Brit TV influence in the 80's than American. Well, except for maybe Baywatch and Miami Vice, anyway.

Lauri, how many times I gotta tell ya? Call doctor, ask for Trazadone. I swear it works wonders without being a barbituate or habit forming in any way.

For once I wasn't up late. Instead of starting work at midnight I started at 4:30 AM. Now I'm stuck here till 1:PM, and I would normally be sleeping at these time of day. Zzzzzzzzzz.

Now I'm stuck here till 1:PM
Was that intentional? Cause it's pretty damn funny. :giggle:

Nope, it was an accidental smilie. I meant to type 1:00 PM but left off the two zeroes and a space. Too tired to type, I guess. Which sucks because I had planned to type up a bunch of chord charts this morning.

Sadly, I was up when you started this thread (it was early for me, not late) because I had to take the pooch out for a potty. Are you still up? I hope not! Anywho, I'm proud of you for forgoing the chemical assistance. Sometimes we just gotta go au natural just to make sure we still know how. ;)
I also did not drink last night, even though it was friday. But I was sippin' on a diet Tropicana Twister with dinner and I was thinking, "you know what would make this great? Vodka." haha oh well.
