How to use the sign tag (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/misc.php?do=bbcode#sign)
How about when I click on the sign tag button and it says "Enter the option for the SIGN tag" it could give a list of the options (cool, crowd, grin, head, love, santa, smile, smug, sob, stare, mad and wink). My problem was that I didn't know what the options were, so I left it blank. It put SIGN="" which made the broken red X. Or maybe you could make 'smile' or something the default for when it's left blank.

I keep forgetting about the sign tag. I think I used it in one of my very first posts here, but never since.

That's cool Joe. :)
Ensign, it doesn't look like I can do what you asked. The custom bbcode dialogue that you're referring to is a generic javascript applet used for all the custom bbcodes. So it would take some hacking of the code to add a list of the options, and I'm just not sure it's worth it when they're listed in the faq.

Can you change the text that says "Enter the option of the SIGN tag" to read "Enter the option for the SIGN tag (smile, wink, cool)" etc?
Or how about the default thingie? To set one of the options to apply when the person enters SIGN=""
Meh, I don't really care that much anymore. jes tryin' to be helpful. ;)

No that's the thing. The "Enter the option for the ______ tag" is the same verbiage for all custom bbcode tags, it just fills in the blank with whatever custom tag it's referring to.
Oh, and I'll look again for a default setting. Forgot that.
Okay, I looked. That doesn't seem possible either. :(

The sign tag looks like a pretty cool function.

Don't forget to put one of the keywords (cool, crowd, grin, head, love, santa, smile, smug, sob, stare, mad, wink) in quotes after the equals sign.

I don't want to badger you but...
http://www.mround.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/JREF/image/small_badger.gifThe nesting seems to go a bit wonky, when you push the signs too hard.
:badger:
See where I put the 'crowd' sign in this one?http://www.mround.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/JREF/image/small_badger.gif
Not that it really matters, of course. :)

edit: never mind. Tom it looks like you did something to fix my broken red x problem. Or is it because I changed browsers?
