So I just happened to glance lazily at Who's Online between bouts of Tetris, and I couldn't help but notice that 8 out of 11 people were partying in the arcade this lovely Saturday afternoon. Then I thought "Hey, that's pretty cool. People are comfortably lolling around in their skivvies, playing games on a lazy weekend." Then I thought "Hey. Some of the comments on the high score board are pretty damn funny."
Then I mashed it all together and squeezed it through my fingers like I was making fresh gnocchi (are you up for that one, RevDahlia?), and thought "Hey! Let's make a plan to meet late Sat or Sun to talk shit about the games we've spent all day playing. We can have a rising star segment and everything, where we introduce the latest title harrier. It'll be like Sportscenter. Only even more for shut-ins! Awesome!"
So what do all y'all weekend warriors say? vm has fixed the chat problem so everyone should be able to log in. All we have to do is pick a time and show up.
Oh! Oh! We could do on the spot challenges with a chat peanut gallery and everything. Who you calling a nerd, dingus? Don't act like you don't love it.

Do we have to wear skivvies?

I think it sounds like a fantastic plan. I'd be more than happy to share with everyone about the rush of blood that went to my head when I walked in and took my Seal Bounce championship back from that predator, dlanod, then piled another score on top of that one for good measure. I mean, just in case anyone missed it, of course.

Sounds like a great idea, liv. Personally, Sunday would work a bit better for me than Saturday (Friday and Saturday are the days that I spend in a corner weeping, trying to convince myself that I have something that resembles a social life :P ).

Yeah, I imagine Sunday afternoon is probably better for most people. That's usually my special do anything but clean the joint time. :)

I'd be up for that, except I made the mistake of introducing Zoe to the arcade here. I've only been able to get near the place when she has had to grab a bite to eat, or gone to pee, or something.
I'll be taking her back to school in about half an hour; it'll be great to get my computer back!

I was wondering how you could stand to keep playing in the arcade once Ronin announced that he had gotten into the chatroom. ;)

Yeah, really. And now of course that I have my computer back to myself, the object of my chattiest fantasies ain't here.

Huh. I just waltzed over to that old Enemy Shooting game, popped a quarter in and got the championship. From the looks of the high score list Shake, Ronin, lisarea, lunachick, and livius don't seem to have done as well right outta the gate. :pimp:

Hey, but there are games in the arcade that have my name in the score lists, yet I know I've never played them! No fair!

We make no allowances for members who let elves molest the ivories in their absence. Would that we had the technology.

When I play Mahjong, I name the pieces. Does anyone else do this? There's "guy with mess on his head", "dancing h", "one line on top", "three lines on top", "3 circles", "six lines red on top", "house", "swordfish", etc. Am I crazy?

I sort of do that. It makes it easier to remember them. I don't remember so well when something's wacky enough that I can't come up with a short descriptor.

Sweetness. It's gotta be before 8 EST (Simpsons, donchaknow). I'd say late afternoon like, say, 5:00 EST? I'm open. Any counteroffers?

Yeah, but how do you play Snake? What is the objective? Where are the tools?

I'll expect to see all y'alls in there tomorrow at 5:00pm EST, then. This would be approximately 16.25 hours from the time that I posted this, yes?
Be there or be square!!!!!

So, did people show up? I couldn't make it last Sunday, but I was curious to know if a crowd gathered in the chatroom. I really can't do the games but I'd show up in the middle of my Sunday for chat, if people are there.

Oh yeah. There was a crowd of people, a crowd so vast it darkened the skies! The very foundations of the earth shook with their stamping and chanting! And I, as their king, led them to a new age of peace and prosperity!
...no... I didn't make it either, stupidly forgetting all aboooot it the morning of. Eh?

Nope, nobody chatted. Everyone who was in the arcade that day stayed in the arcade, including me. :P
