..I am so glad that I rang them here. They are not in any way putting crap on my daughter - they just want to know what they can do to make her life a little bit easier so she doesn't have to wake up at 4am to keep going to school. They are somewhat horrified that she has not previously been offered their assistance.

I am so glad that they are now involved. I suspect that grandbaby will have a place at the childcare centre across the road tomorrow - and that's what "DOCS" (in the US CFS) is here to do. In my experience, the child welfare agencies ROCK.

Still babbling after al these years....

I don't know exactly how it works here either, but it sounds like it's a heckuva lot better over there. How is everything going with your daughter and the baby? (Besides waking up at 4AM, apparently).
