Anybody watch Invader Zim? It is laugh out loud funny. I work swings now, so I'm up watching TV until 2 or 3 in the morning, and I quite literally bite my lip, shake, and cry, trying not to guffaw my neighbors out of their respective slumbers. Gr especially rules (duh). I've downloaded a few episodes, but I still haven't been able to track down the series premiere, which rules for three reasons:
The Doom Song
"Why does it hurt?"
The initial construction of the hideout.
Fucking genius. Here's an actual conversation between Dorian and his best friend:
Rhidian: The poster in the kitchen says, "I Eat Food."
Dorian: Where?
Rhidian: Right there. Over the toilet.
Tell me someone has seen this show, otherwise this entire post was gibberish. Enjoy!

One of the unanticipated benefits of replacing cable with satellite* was getting the all Nicktoon channel. I'm catching up on all the Invader Zim goodness that I missed the first time.
* so far, so good -- it even worked in the snowstorm. Comcast can bite my shiny metal ass!

I like comcast alright. I don't pay for it, which is definitely a plus (it's included in my rent). Even still, I get the Comcast Cable Subscriber rate on my internet service, which is cheaper than buying internet by itself even though that's all I'm paying for. Sweet! OTOH, their billing and tech support departments have pissed me off already this week, but I don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
Anywho, INVADER ZIM RULES! Are you watching any other nicktoons? IZ is the only one I'm aware of liking. Does The Tick or Earthworm Jim or Beetlejuice come on that channel? (not sure if any of those are nicktoons)

Nope, it's more Faily Oddparents, Jimmy Neutron, and Rugrats. I wish they'd throw Angry Beavers into the rotation...

Ah. And that would be why I switched to Cartoon Network, with an occiasional foray into Fox Kids.
However, Grr is just fucking genius. "Let's make biscuits!"

I've watched all but two episodes of the first volume. First, it's great. Before finishing the first disc, I'd already decided to go ahead and order the rest.
However, the second disc seems to be defective! :storm:
It was skipping during the first two episodes of disc two. It is possible that the actual thunderstorm outside was messing it up though. The storm is gone and so is the problem. I'll rewatch the first one and see it is still messed up. If it wasn't the storm, Amazon is good for taking back defective products.
Ensign Steve, have you seen the Zim's house box set? (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00068NWFG/qid=1122588032/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-6037784-1916948?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846)
My favorite episodes so far are Nanozim, Bestest Friend and Germs.

I have the Zim's house thing. It came with only one of the DVDs, but that's okay, I already had the other three.
Victory for ZIM!

All great picks, blood. I also especially enjoy Bad Bad Little Piggy; it has a time-travel butterfly-effect science-fiction thing going for it. And Dark Harvest is the grossest episode of all, in the way that cannibalism is grosser than pus. :giggle:
The house looks cool, but $31 for one DVD? Yikes! I already have all six anyway.

Yeah, I watched Bad Little Piggy after posting, I think. It was great, especially the fish in a bear suit. My favorite part of Dark Harvest was the pigeonhead disease and the cow noisebox. The 'more organs' line was great too.
Looks like the discs will have to be returned. The first episode on the second disc skipped in exactly the same places the second time around. :deepsigh:
The house also comes with a special GIR figure.
