I figured that, instead of starting a new thread every time there's a game at RnR looking for players, I'd just start this thread that people can bump whenever a non-:ff: game is starting up.

Patronus Potter is running a Big Love (http://www.rantsnraves.org/showthread.php?p=399904) themed game over at RnR. Current projected start: Wednesday.

Big Love themed Mafia? That is just so wrong. :giggles:

Reign Cryogen has an Altered Carbon Mafia game (http://talkrational.org/showthread.php?t=7617) accepting sign ups at TalkRational.org. The game will probably start Monday, November 3.

What is Altered Carbon?

Hi Crumb!

It's an SF novel (wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altered_Carbon))

Talk Rational has a mafia (pirate motif) game forming up here (http://www.talkrational.org/showthread.php?t=9679).

I moved your post to this thread from the mafia sticky, wiploc. Welcome to FF. :welcome1:

I would have done exactly the same thing, as admin. And so would Chuck.

Welcome to :ff: wiploc

Yeah, but would you have done it with aplomb?

Also, I am playing. I encourage the rest of you to also play.

Don't sign up for any games that aren't going to be finished by 15 Jan, bey.

rnr tried to make a deal with tr to run all mafia games in the same place, but it didn't work... is ff interrested in smth like this?

I don't think we could force people to play elsewhere, but it's an interesting idea. Certainly the pool of players would expand dramatically.

There are also some style differences in play that may not work when crammed together. I like the way we play here a bit better. :)

nobody will force you to always play elsewhere, you can still play here too. but currently rnr, tr and ff seem to barely manage to put together 12 player games on their own. a common initiative seems in everybody's interrest.

At this point I should mention that the Transformers game is still sitting on my desktop in a neat series of text files, I might even pimp it up a bit more, but I backed out on running it before due to lack of players.

Someday it shall be unleashed...

Truth. What sort of thing did y'all have in mind? A separate vB installation?

Crumb

Yeah Megatron, I am interested in your game, too. If we can get mafia interest again, or if th1nk3r's scheme works make sure I am in.

I wish simply cross advertising was enough to get players, but it doesn't seem to be. I am interested in your proposal th1nk3r. :yup:

A separate VB for the sole purpose of mafia might just work.

I've played at MafiaScum. :shudder: Their games are very slow tedious affairs. Also, they seem to have disappeared. :chin:

I enjoy the :ff: and the RnR/IIDB styles and it would be great to have a sufficient player pool to have a regular game going.

I have nothing specific in mind tbh. i'm pretty sure that people at rnr aren't even aware of this thread, but i will let them know. but this doesn't or shouldn't take much arrangement for now, we just need to establish some rules.

dunno if everyone would be willing to come here or at a different place set up just for mafia, but i know that rnr people were willing to play at tr just for the love of the game, but some were banned and we weren't able to negociate a deal for them to be allowed to post in the mafia section only, and tr players wouldn't come to rnr to play from some misunderstood sense of elitism.

i'm not great with vbulletin, but i think the best solution would be a joint forum. meaning, a section for which the database is the same or copied. so everyone could access it at the place he frequents primarily, but if someone posts in one place the messages should appear on the other servers also. i have no idea if this is possible from a technical standpoint. your admins should get in touch with matt i guess.

We could all play on US gamers. The forum software keeps track of votes and everything automatically.

Sign-ups are in progress for a James Bond-based mafia game at TR (http://talkrational.org/showthread.php?t=15685). Luis Garcia is hoping to get at least 30 players for this game.

He's designed some amazing games before. This should be epic.

Seriously, I did a bad thing, I signed up for a mafia game that coincides with our romantic and awesome move across country.

I would like to apologize to the country for my mistake. I would also like to apologize to the mafia at tr who no doubt were counting on my presence to muddy the waters. Finally I would like to apologize to my lovely fiancee who has stood by me in these troubling times.
