We've had a number of good athletes who served as President: Jerry Ford, All-american football star; Abe Lincoln, wrestler and rail-splitter; Teddy Roosevelt, boxer, hunter, and fisherman; Dwight Eishenhower, starter for the Army team that played against Jim Thorpe; Andrew Jackson, marksman.
The current election pits two high school basketball champions against each other. Neither, perhaps, matches the athletic prowess of some of those mentioned above -- but they both had great sports nicknames: Barry O'Bomber and Sarah Barracuda.
