I found this forum while i was searching for the website on Towne Club Soda, originally bottled in Detroit, MI, USA. I don't recall who mentioned they knew about this drink. I do remember as well buying cases of it in a wooden crate. And I do know where some are still being sold.
Just thought I'd bring this up, if someone else knows where they are now bottling this beverage, I'd like to know where?

Hi meena. I'm the one who mentioned Towne Club in this post (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=22568#post22568). I haven't lived in the Detroit area for a long time though, so I have no idea where (or if) they're still bottling it.

:welcome: to the FF.

Isn't Google a wonderful thing? I love that someone can be randomly looking for something completely unrelated and come across a bunch of folks talking about it. :wriggle:

So what does Towne Club taste like anyway?

They had so many flavors to pick from, that now all the bigger 'soft drink' companies sort of copied from there. Rock n Rye, Cherry Cola, Lemon Lime, Pineapple orange, etc. They'll never out do what Towne Club did years ago.

As a native of Detroit, I was always partial to Faygo RedPop.

In fact you can blame Faygo for midwesterners referring to soda as "pop".

Faygo Black Cherry. yup, Faygo also has many flavors that are hard to beat.
I once asked for pop in a town that didn't know what that was. The waitress thought I asked for pot, and her eyes popped  out of her head...lol.

I love any soda with a cherry angle. Cherry cola, black cherry: you just can't beat them for deliciousness.

The first time I moved to California, in 1990, I found out that they used 'pop' as a euphemism for having sex. So when my girlfriend of the time said she was going to grab a quick pop after our smoke break and before heading back to her desk, our co-workers got quite a laugh out of it.

Meena disappeared a year ago, Legsy, shortly after starting this thread. :)

I have a feeling firescience is just passing through too, but if not:

:welcome: to the FF, firescience.

He he... What is it about Towne Club soda which so inexorably lures people to ask about it?

Welcome to FF, firescience. :welcome1:

Legs was disoriented 'cause she had a few Diamond Beverages pops.

Some shady, backdoor Canadian soda-running operation, I presume? It's that kind of shit that got Al Capone in trouble.

We need a hack for displaying necromanced threads in some different colour. Faded sepia ... erm ... wouldn't exactly work. How about a cracked, lichen-blotched bar above posts more than 6 months old?

I can visualise it but I can't actualise it right now. Hold that loving it!
