I wish I knew what to say at times likes this. Words fail me.

From what you've said about the situation, it seems the best all around. But it must hurt like nothing I could imagine. Take care, reprise, and I admire you for your courage and strength in this.

Fwiw...when I've responded to this call, I always came away with the utmost respect for those with real tears.
A few years ago, I interviewed a mother of a six month old who drove the getaway car for her husband who robbed a local restaurant with the child asleep in a carseat. He was almost shot dead by a good friend of mine as he exited the restaurant (mask on, bag of money and shotgun in hand), however, he thankfully surrendered in the nick of time.
Once at my office, she openly admitted, in start candor, that they were both junkies and needed the money for their next fix. She told me I was doing her a favor in taking her child to the grandmother...she had been to rehab and DHS several times and no one had done that for her before this arrest. The couple later pled guilty and are doing jail time as their child is being raised by relatives.
I'll never know the final outcome...I have faith that a better life will be provided.

What a wonderful insight into people that live with reality on a day to day basis.
I also admire your pacifist pugilist title.
I, being a long hair, have had many times whe my pacifism has been called into questiion. It was usually from the guy picking himself up from the ground complaining that I wasn't living up to my outward appearance. Reconciling this anomaly was easy.
I am a pacifist but there are those that have shown me that the ability to "pass a fist" from point A to point B, even if a jerk's head is in the way, will not detract from who I am.
I admire the succinctness of your post.
I, too, hope that the best will come to reprise and her dilemma. All you can do is trust that good will come of your actions. It can be very heartening to see when it does.
