Wow-- my very own birthday thread. :D :D Thanks so much. I was taken out for a fabulous dinner at the Tattered Cover Fourth Story restaurant. It is at the top level of my favorite book store. I had a pretty pink bubbly champagne, seared scallops, a tomato soup, lobster ravioli and a fantastic heart shaped chocolate cake. We shared a bottle of pinot noir-- It was a perfect perfume for the tongue with my seafood. Then I had planned to go listen to a local band but having been worn out from a second cold in two weeks, I zonked after having changed from my lacy dress into jeans more appropriate for going out to the bar. Eh, age will do that to you. :yup:

I received a new work out outfit and a creme brulee kit complete with a torch and 8 ramekins (4 heart shaped and 4 circle ones) and a cookbook. I'm looking forward to playing with that. :D My kids made me gorgeous cards and gave me gift certificates to starbucks and a local beauty salon. It was a low key but very nice weekend.

I love the idea of a nice restaurant in a book store. It sounds like you had a really great birthday, Aspen. :yup:

Here's a link:

They are an independent bookstore and are not afraid of a bit of controversy here and there. I've had their number in my cell phone directory for a long while-- you never know when a literary emergency might occur and you simply must have a particular book special ordered. :D

Here's some fun "Literary Ramblings": http://www.tatteredcover.com/NASApp/store/IndexJsp;jsessionid=FE9AC0ECE3EEA70475A65B3B1FCBE7E1.t7?s=localbestsellers
