View Full Version : To Me, Comrades! Your FF Needs You.

My fellow forummen, we stand on the threshhold of a new era in FF history, one that has come upon us like a thief in the night. Will we let it catch us unawares, go about our business as if the word momentous had no meaning? Or will we stand tall, face our coming triumph with eyes ablaze, and embrace our elevation with all the passion in our guts?
Hear ye now the numbers of our reckoning.
Threads: 1707
Smilies: 1745
I say we stride forward into our future! Dive into the pounding surf and stand upon it like fore, main and mizzenmast all in one. Take the smaller number of the two and make it swell in an overpowering crescendo until even mine own bizarre obsessive hoarding may come to seem tiny in comparison.
I see you raring like greyhounds in the slips straining upon the start. Now post threads for liv, vm and FF!

Hey, I meant it. :yup:
:sadcheer: Fine, make me feel even more guilty. Not enough time to read all the posts any more. I just beat my daughter at chess when she was feeling bored and unhappy about school ... sorry, that's another topic.
Now you expect me to start new threads. I dub thee mistress of the monstrous horde (sic: not hoard) of smilies, and your house, the board with more smilies than threads. Oh, the shame.
And you may not realise it, but there is an implied task in there too. Oh, indeed you may not realise it, but when you do, it'll be all :control: and :whipping:.
For are there not smilies of virtue, wit and wonder buried in your vaults that don't get used as much as they deserve?

Oh, poor Joe. :badday: Don't feel guilty, hon. From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs, donchaknow. I'm sure your daughter will cope with the loss. Just tell her liv is a chess retard and your daughter would surely spank her like a wayward monkey given the chance.
Now you expect me to start new threads. I dub thee mistress of the monstrous horde (sic: not hoard) of smilies, and your house, the board with more smilies than threads. Oh, the shame.
All I ask is that you don't dub me Ishmael. :giggles:

You intrigue me, sirrah. Could it be something like a smiley counter on the forum index, possibly with a newest smilies link? :chin:
For are there not smilies of virtue, wit and wonder buried in your vaults that don't get used as much as they deserve?
Most assuredly so. I shall continue to contemplate how I can force you to rectify that problem. :control:

One feels that had you really meant it you would have take more care with spelling Crumb's name, Livius.

... SWMBO.
Anybody else ever see that old movie "SHE!"?
No; I thought the expression originated with John Mortimer's Rumpole. I didn't realize it was an allusion. :giggles: Although, now that I think about it, isn't an allusion to something even older? ...
Ah, right--originally a book by H. Rider Haggard. Still, Leo McKern is much missed. :deepsigh:

Resurrecting won't work, Warren, 'cause old threads are already counted. Or wait... Did you realize that and were just mocking me? The smilies comment was clearly a taunt, because we all know I've been having difficulty restraining myself from uploading new ones since I started this thread. Man, I need to get some sleep. :sleepy:
Meanwhile, a big yay! on the thread making stats yesterday. :appl: :10: :appl:

Sounds like something good to do for the smilies will soon be the lesser of the two numbers. My salute as I go to find some fair and equitable reason for a thread that will not be just a thread but a part of that momentous moment when the smilies will feel the frienship of being surpassed by the ftf. Yee haw!
Charge.

This (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1789) was my V-barth post, Shake, and although I can't say I've posted in every thread, quite clearly I've posted in the vast majority of them.
I just couldn't be prouder of all y'all for brandishing your New Thread swords so fearlessly. Keep going, please, because I've got about 10 smilies I've been sitting on while we hit the mark and we all know it won't stop there.
:goldstar: :goldstar: :goldstar: :goldstar: :goldstar: and a :grouphug: all around.
