My pup has a tapeworm. :( I noticed the symtoms in his feces today. He got dewormed for roundworm about 3 weeks ago, and he didn't have any of the "spaghetti" in his stool. Today, though, he had the "rice." Why does it all have to be compared with food? My appetite is gone. I wanted to take a photo, but a still photo would not have done justice to the sick, creepy inching of the segment across the loaf. Fortunately we have a vet appointment on Wednesday. Oh I am so grossed out. I've been watching too much Voyager, I think. I wish I had a microscope.

He he... I know that contradiction well. Sorry about poor Caesar. How do you think he got them? Has he been around other dogs recently or do you think he had it before you adopted him?

Oh, and also :vomit:.

Yah, I'm the same way about acne. Anywho, he's only been out of the animal shelter for less than a month, so I'm guessing he picked it up there? According to teh internets, the only way to contract it is to ingest a flea who has a tapeworm egg inside it. *shrug*

Damn, I knew I shouldn't have eaten that flea casserole!

If you're so squeamish why were you digging through his shit to begin with?

Mammas do some crazy things for their babies. Besides it was gross. Anywho, I didn't have to dig through the shit to find it. I just had to look and see the things making a conga line across the top of the turd.

Ohh... okay. When you said you noticed the symptoms in his feces, I was wondering what brought you to be in his feces to begin with. :slide:

On next read, key in on "the sick, creepy inching of the segment across the loaf." Across the top is inferred, otherwise I would have said 'through.' ;)

And now... off to the "Paste It Here" thread.

I'm not sure why you'd think I read past the part where you were digging in your dogs feces.

"Fortunately" ... because he has a video camera?
