View Full Version : Why is liv such a Geek?

Having determined to rise to a recent challenge and to start more threads for the glory of the forum, I must admit the overriding question of the moment is what on earth would possibly explain the priorities of our illustrious leaderette? How could someone take such glee in the total thread count? How could she countenance the use of roman numerous for a post count, knowing full well that on account of this we shall be scorned by all the net world as entirely too nerdy to sit at the cool table? How could she take such glee in the posting of chicken pictures? Hou cood shie bie sew thaet whey abowt anuthre thinggg? And how on earth could anybody take such joy in obscure references to ancient triviata while celebrating the joys of various junk TV shows? I tell you there is something wrong with this woman!
Now it might be thought that perhaps there is a larger question about anyone weird enough to spend as much time as some of us do on message boards? Why perhaps would I be so twisted enough as to start yet another mean-spirited and unprovoked attack on the lovely liv (I say lovely because the spirit of her geekiositude is indeed beautiful, and it comes through her posts, even if she won't share the features of her visage with us over the net). Surely, one might think, liv is not the only oddity amonst this menagerie. This could in fact be a discussion about the collective neuroses which combine to generate an online community. But that would be missing the point. You see, this thread isn't about us; it's about LIV! Why my friends, why I must ask, WHY IS LIV SO STRANGE?
You know it could be that she droped on her head when she was little, but I honestly think the answer to this deep and disturbing question will be more complicated than that. In fact I feel quite certain we shall be unable to answer this question without broaching the subjects of Fredian psychology, deep laughter theory and the nature of Free Masonry. But for my own part, I suspect her education must have something to do with it. Could it be college? Could those perverted and disgusting creatures who teach colege classes have so twisted and perverted her values that she could never get back? Did they teach her to love learning so much that she would forever remain obsessed with obscure Roman characters and names with lower case letters? I don't know that, is my suggestion. But I cannot claim to know for sure the full extent of the problem much less its proper explanation. Help me out here folks. If you have any thuoghts on the subject, I would certainly appreciate the help. We need to understand this folks.
Why is liv so strange?

I am seriously considering splitting this thread into 7 new ones and moving each of them to a different forum. But as Sister Rosaleen taught me when we had class out back next to the 2nd century sarcophagus we used as a drinking fountain, that would be just a little bit too Sophoclean.
Besides, I've got bigger fish to fry. That rat bastard Slimshady is encroaching on my Tetris championship.

Now liv, we're all here to help you. It won't accomplish anything if you are blocking now eill it.
It'll all be okay, just put the Tetris down. You can do it.

Is geekiness inherited? Is it contagious? She could have either been born with it or caught it depending on the known causes of the affliction.

the question is why is her geekiness so fucking cool.
geeks I can find by the bushel, but geeks as cool as liv are not nearly so common.

I am trying to razz someone here people! All this kindness and love is NOT helping, you know. This isn't the "let's be nice to live because we all know she deserves it" thread; this is the "try and explain why liv is so strange" thread. I don't care if Beyal did hit the nail right on the head dammit, give the Governor a Harrumph will ya!
Get with the program here guys. Sheesh!
Actually, I think LadyShea may be onto something though. Perhaps we should ask Roland to investigate the possibility of a geek gene.

I'm more interested in environmental factors. I'm quite the geek, and all these years of living in such close proximity have definitely rubbed off on her. The degree, however, might still be a matter of debate, so there's probably still good reason for a genetic study.

I believe she could be cured of her freaky geekiness if she would only learn to get over her irrational fear of navel oranges.

Possibly a batch of bad mayonnaise? Garnished with cilantro and stewed tomatoes and accompanied by heavily buttered bread.
I think it's understandable really. That stuff'll geek ya every time!

Yes a bad batch of mayonnaise would explain a lot, but then again, that just begs the question of why she would consume such an awful substance to begin with. Surely that too requires some explanation.
(I think from now on when presenting the Argument from Evil I will just call it the Argument from Mayonnaise. That should make things very clear to all.)

Brimshack, when you say kinky sex :spank: and lady cop :ladycop: in the same sentence, it might get you a little slack, a running start as it were,. ...however, your parole has been revoked...and you are back on the MOST WANTED list! :wanted: Whoo Hoo it's ON again!

Do you think that she got the mayonnaise for lunch one day at college? If we can figure out the day then we can see how many other geeks there are. They probably had a really bad cook at the cafeteria and the offending substance was used to cover up the foul tastes of the prepared foods.
This all begs the question of, is there a mayonnaise company out there that is turning America into a land of geeks. Or does the mayonnaise inducing geekiness substance only work on women?
Jees Louise this could be the biggest conspiracy in the history of the Western Culture. We should get down on our knees and thank liv from saving us all from this perfidious plot.
But there is one question that really bothers me. Is liv really a geek or is this the work of someone that wanted to start a thread and couldn't think of anything else except to malign the hallowed one because she whupped him at something, somewhere along the line? :poke:

Well I thought about posting a frivolous thread to complain about all the other frivolous threads, but calling liv a Geek just hadda be done, man.
Truth is an absolute defense.

Well look, I know Robert Fusspuller Frede is a little known psychologist, and people may not care about his theories. He may be less popular than another theorist, but hey it's just a matter of professional judgement you know. I would hardly all it a slip up. Sheesh!
