I wish there was curiosity, mostly I am getting whining "When can we go home?"

My answer? "Not soon enough" :brooding:

I remember a time before this forced taking your child to work thing when mom would drag me to her office in downtown Houston. (I think it was mainly on weekends or sommit.) I would occupy my time by jamming up the typewriters; not an easy task when they're the old IBM ball whatsits; or putting the stapler removers in my mouth and pretending I was creature of the night (hint: I did not make beautiful music); and when all else failed I would run my Hotwheels up and down the hallway.

Ah, those were the days. (Onion on the belt not included.)

My daughter is 20 now....(dammm I'm old)....

I'd love the opportunity to bring her to work with me if I could....and if she would want to come to work with me...

But I can't and she wouldn't want to....

My sons on the other hand,,,,I'd have to stick my head into a blender......:D

When we were driving to the office we had the radio on in the car. The DJ had his daughter in the studio and she was announcing songs etc... then the broke to the traffic chopper and the helicopter pilot had his 14 year old up there doing the traffic report.

HG was all "why can't I do something cool like that instead of going to your work?"

That's why I am putting her up for adoption, just fill out an application.

I'd stick my head into a blender....:D

At my last job, I brought my oldest son to work with me and that was a serious pain...

He was all like...DAD..THEY ACTUALLY PAY YOU TO SIT AT A COMPUTER ALL DAY?

We went home early that day too.... :D

Sounds like a perfect job!

Smilin

It wasn't the perfect job.....

They stressed me out till I almost had a nervous breakdown...pile WAY too much work on my plate with vague explanations, almost zero budget and impossible deadlines.

I surprised them when they thought I'd quit or wouldn't be able to perform.

My only regret is not taking a dump in the refrigerator before I was told I had to leave.

This job is cake and I'm loving every minute of it though!

I do miss having my own personal work space but the pay is MUCH better here...and the view of the mountains is spectacular!

I frequently went to work with both my parents, yay lack of childcare.

My mother worked in a library, no problem there!
My dad was a crane driver, so I now have no fear of heights and can drive a Haitachi crane.

Just give horsegirl a book and tell her to let mommy work.

I never got to go to work with my parents; my dad worked 3rd shift and wouldn't let me stay up all night and my mom ran a daycare out of our house and refused to let me stay home all day.

I used to be pretty pissed about it but I got over it when I realized I'd have to either stand at a machine all night or entertain snotty nosed brats.

But DJing or traffic reporting? I would be all over it.

I worked at home that day. Daughter had to go out briefly ... some exam I believe ... but was otherwise with me all day. Doing her own thing, as usual.

Last time I did actually take her to an office place of work I think she demanded paper and colours and drew the entire time.

In all fairness, if anybody took me to their work I would demand the same :yup:

There's always children and babies and dogs here. I love it. After 4 years in a secure building with no windows and no uncleared visitors EVAR, it's nice to be in a workplace that isn't just about :chain: all the fucking time.
