I wonder what happened

For some reason I decided to Wiki and old friendly acquaintance today, only to find out she died last week at age 35. The obituary didn't say the cause of death.

Playboy aficionados may recognize her name, Tiffany Sloan. She was a Playmate in 1992

She was a sweet girl, but always seemed kind sad and lost, and she was very insecure and had a hard time trusting people...too many starfuckers tried to cozy up to her. Though we weren't close friends, we liked each other well enough.

I remember the last time I saw her, 5-6 years ago. That Christmas hubby and some friends and I decided to get out of the city to my favorite secret spot for the holidays, Mt. Charleston. There is a great restaurant/bar at the top of the mountain that had a huge fire pit and served wonderful coffee drinks. Tiffany was there, alone, on Christmas Eve 40 minutes from Las Vegas playing video poker in a corner. Sad.

Not that anyone gives a shit, but I wanted to post because I can't help but wonder what happened to her.

Yeah, kinda gave me a shiver too. And, this is the second time I have decided to look someone up after years of not even thinking of them, and they had recently died.

There was prompting though. I saw something about "Playmate" in a news headline (one of Heff's exes I guess), and it made me think of her, so I thought I'd see what she was up to.

Another weird coincidence, a first name/location combo on Tiffany's obituary guestbook was familiar to me, so I took a stab and looked her up on Facebook, and asked if she was my old friend with a new last name. Sure was. I had mentioned her last week to a mutual friend, wondering how she was.

Anyway, she confirmed that Tiffany ODd, probably purposefully, on prescription meds of some kind. She had been hospitalized for pancreatitis, had a drinking problem, and attempted suicide before. What a sad waste.
