My Mom once bought me a sweater with a giant clown face on it...it had tassells for hair...tassells that centered over each nipple...I was 14.

(Yes I wore it...I loved it...it was entertaining on many levels...and my sister is deadly afraid of clowns)

I rather like the bold use of warm color and the neo-mariachi styling so expertly contrasted by the aquatic band across the top of the chest. It brings to mind Andean fruit sellers on the streets of Lima with perhaps just a hint of Old World charm.

The better option might be to make one. There are both knit (http://giftable.wordpress.com/bearded-toque/) and crochet (http://www.instructables.com/id/How_to_Crochet_a_Mustache_Hat_Costume/) instructions around on the internets.

I'll have to start a Beautiful Sweater Thread or something, though.

One for Sorrow
12-21-2008, 07:56 PM
The B-man and I went to a tacky holiday sweater party on Friday night. I have a lot of fugly clothes in my closet, but nothing that I felt was quite hideous enough to make the cut. So, I entrusted him with the task of going to the thrift store and finding me one. $2.75 later, I had this gem:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v92/tandoori_magpie/Friends/dscn0004-1.jpg

What's particularly funny is that we noticed about a week ago (when we raided his parents' closet to find his lovely party attire) that his mother has the exact same sweater. So, he said it was serendipitous when he happened upon it in the thrift store. We both reacted with, "Holy shit, they actually made two of them!"

lisarea
12-21-2008, 11:10 PM
I decided to conserve precious natural resources by using this ugly sweater thread instead of starting one for awesome sweaters.

I told the LM I needed to take a picture, and he was all like, "NOOOO! WHY?!?!?! I DON'T WANNA!" so I actually had to put the sweater on him and pull him out of the doorway where he was trying to hide.
