I have never read any of Jeffrey Archer's books before, certainly none of his fiction, and was unfamiliar with his history as a fundraiser and Conservative Party politico. While I was at the talking book store, I stumbled across his "Prison Diary," part I, and then was inspired to look up a little of his background. What do you all think of him? I've listened to the "Prison Diary." The writing is decent, I suppose, but my opinion is -- what an insufferable stuffed shirt! When all kinds of fraud and lying happen around one guy, you've got to be concerned about -- what is the lowest common denominator in this picture? Is his fiction any good? Not that I'd be tempted to read it now.
