I'm often amused at the descriptions that they put on the videos of foreign flicks, not too mention the imagery itself.

Take this one:

It's actually a documentary about an historian. To look at the movie cover, you would think it was porn.

...an absolutely brillint movie about politics in Cuba, but the main character is gay, which is used primarily as a political value in the storyline. But to read the blurb on the back of the video, the movie is like a racier version of Will and Grace.

I keep thinking I've seen other gambits like this, but these are the only two examples I can think of. It makes sense I guess, just to sell the films, but I have to admit it makes me a little queezy to think that some of the finest films I can think of are packaged and presented as Hollywood kitch.
