I had the opportunity to try my hand at art glass today in a class taught by this guy. (http://www.michaeldupille.com/) We made a couple different types of molds. Poured bits of glass in one of them, and I'll get to do more tomorrow.

It's kind of exciting, I'm dying to see how my thing turned out. I'm trying not to become too crazy about it, because I don't know that this would be a regular thing for me - its pretty expensive to do. The only reason I did the class is because a friend of mine has asked me to collaborate with her (in part or in total, I don't know yet) on a project bid she's won. So, I kind of need an overview on how this stuff works.

Anyway, I had fun, and hopefully I made something pretty.

Wow. He's fantastic. My vote for favorite piece goes to the gorgeous Hanging Owl, but I've been an owl fan since I first got stuck on Athena when I was 4 or so.

What a great opportunity, freemonkey. Even if it's not something you integrate into your standard repetoir thereafter, it's cool as hell to learn a new technique from someone so talented and creative. :thumbup:

I know. He made this little guitar goddess mold while we were making ours. I'm thinking of bringing him a little print of one of mine today.

While not spectacular, the little glass tile I made came out pretty cool. I'm trying to take a good pic of it, but it turns out glass (my little piece of it, anyway) is really hard to photograph. :chin:
