Well, I'm getting marginally more adept at this stuff...

In loading some of my Kyoto pictures, I note that each time it allows you to select three files...why is that? Can one post up three images together?

Then, I thought I'd rotated the Daikokuji garden path image, but when it uploaded it still needed the 90 degree clockwise rotation. I don't see any editing capabilities... Did I miss them? Or, are there none? (I'm betting on the former, given my awe-inspiring ineptitude on these matters.)

Three images at a time, yessir, but then you'll have the same title and description for each. Of course, you could always upload three at a time and then edit the titles and descriptions should you feel the urge.

You're doing great, godfry. It's really not obvious unless you're used to the way vBulletin arranges its options.

What you're looking for is the "Image Tools" dropdown. Click on a picture and look in the upper right corner. Click on "Image Tools" and "Edit Image" to make any changes you wish, including rotating or flipping the picture. :)

Did that work for you?

godfry n. glad
02-23-2005, 12:54 AM
Nope.

I got right to the "Make Changes" button and got this:

godfry n. glad, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Don't you just love dealing with the inept? :lostmap:

That's totally weird, godfry. I double checked the permissions and anyone should be able to edit their own images. If you don't mind, could you try to edit some of the text -- maybe in the description -- to see if you get the same permission error?

I tried to rotate the pic for you using the built in feature and it just made it look freaky, so I ended up saving it to my hard drive, rotating it in my pic editing software and uploading it again.

IOW, it's not you, it's the software.

livius drusus

Good question. The answer is probably something along the lines of it didn't occur to us to add one there. :giggle: Let's see if vm can make it happen.

Oh well off to add another one...

Stem to stern, eh? Not likely. I used the search tool. I put in "hick" and got a lot of chicken stuff. I put in "goober", "gomer", "hayseed" and "doofus", and got nuthin'....I didn't think of "yokel".

Mebbe Cletus jes' needs some more cross-referencing....

Well, I like this gallery. Alot. So much better than the blasted gallery in Spymac. No one grades me for my looks or picture quality and no one has yet to give me horible critiques like, "erm,...so girl next door.", or "crappy picture quality so I rate it a one star" This one is nicer and more cozey- no pressure and hopefully no insults will be made in regard to pictures.

I'll have you know that I have had to mightily restrain my inner jerkhole to keep from posting just such obnoxious replies to the pictures after reading this post.

Not because I like criticizing people, but I like pushing their buttons.

We were thinking that the difference is that postcounts count posts in the forum, donchaknow. Replies to journal entries don't count as posts, so consistency would indicate that Gallery and Links replies don't count either.

IOW, your slutting will only count here, m'dear. :P

That's just wrong. Now I'm really glad we disabled the ratings. Our thought process was that it would either encourage people to rate highly just so as not to be meanies, or make people feel bad by comparison with someone who got a high rating, or worse: serve as an outlet for people's inner jerks (:cough: eldar :cough: ).

Wait...wait...It IS spelled that way in the US!

The thing is, it's usually in reference to hot dogs, ham and processed canned meat.

I'll leave it to your imagination as to where liv's mind was when she input that search term.
