A few snapshots of our walks down our neighborhood beach. I love it when the weather cooperates and we can walk down the beach for miles and not see a soul and the hairy dog can run around off leash.

Here is Kono romping in the salt marsh at the lagoon.

A huge container ship reminds me we are still near civilization.

You never know what you will find on this beach.

That's a very beautiful dog!

I wish that my place was large enough -- with a sufficiently-sized yard -- to allow for me to get one.

You've got to admit, that's a good euphemism for female masturbation.

Better than digging a ditch or cleaning up Love Canal, both of which I just now made up.

Aussie. You are a right, a ham plus a handful! I hope to get him to the ranch where they teach them herding this month. He already herds the chickens but would like him to herd them where I tell him to go. We shall see how he does with the sheep.

I have a BC/Aussie mix, and they are a handful! Our motto is if you don't train them, they train you. They are too smart. We named our furry boy Dante because he can go from Inferno to Paradisio in a snap, and back again. Two quick stories to illustrate.

As a precocious pup of twelve weeks, my husband who is a big tall guy slightly stepped on him on Thanksgiving. Husband freaks out and gives him all kinds of love to make up for it: pets, treats, positive attention. Dante liked the attention so much he went on to do an Oscar worthy performance. Every time hubby was in the room, he'd drag his little paw around like a cripple and look pathetic. Every time hubby's back was turned he'd be jumping and scampering about. My man was certain we needed to take him to the Emergency Vet Clinic, until I had him peek around the corner and see puppy jumping round feeling quite fine and pleased with himself.

A few years later hubby threw his back out badly and was totally out of wack. One afternoon he was lying on the couch on his stomach with an icepack on the small of his back, which Dante had seen him do for a week or so. My guy fell asleep and the icepack slipped off his back. Well Dante knows that he isn't allowed to touch anything other than his toys, one of which was a stuffed Blue's Clues bone which was roughly the same color and dimensions as the ice pack. I come home to find husband on the couch with the toy on the small of his back where the icepack should be, and Dante laying at his feet.

I would think a dog like that would drive you nuts if you didn't let him outside at least three times a day. He's a handsome pooch no matter what. I'm betting he'll have a blast chasing sheep around!

You've a good place for a dog.

It's nice that the dog gets to be off-leash on occasion.
