Happens to me a lot. There's a thing I do that MT calls the circle dance. I'll get up to do something, think of something else and turn to head that way, change my mind to go back the original thing, turn again because of something else, then forget entirely what I was going to do in the first place.
This is usually accompanied by muttering.
