I'm not too bad at it, apparently, scoring 16 out of 20. How about you? Can you spot the fake smilies in the crowd?

But I couldn't tell you how I did it. Something to do with the eyes, maybe?

10 out of 10 mostly just guessing. I have a hard time judging facial expressions in general.

16/20

Judging by the replays they allow at the end, I tended to believe the overblown fake ones. How did you get a score after only 10, Ymir's blood? I got a bit weary of judging somewhere around the 10-12th face and wished I knew how to bail out at that point!

I loved seeing them, though. It's nice to see regular interesting looking people smiling instead of the usual cookie cutter beee-ooootiful people we usually see on tv. Some of those smiles made me smile just for how fun the person looked.

I did better than I thought I would, I have a hard time reading people.

Uh, that should have been ten of twenty.

hummmm. :chin:

14/20 right which was better than I though I would do, but pretty poor. Missed three genuine ones and three fake ones. People I initially didn't like the looks of before the animation, I got correctly after the animation - I wonder if that means genuineness can overcome prejudice? In each case I thought I was looking at the eyes, but I guess I wasn't quick or observant enough.

I clicked off the website a little too quickly, but didn't notice any discussion of gender differences. I wonder if men or women score differently? I would think women would do better, but on the other hand, I know women who have fallen for some real phony jerks - several times.

I wonder if that means genuineness can overcome prejudice?Interesting question. I think it probably can, but only if the prejudger is open to the prejudged expression of their genuineness. Or something. In each case I thought I was looking at the eyes, but I guess I wasn't quick or observant enough. I glanced at both the eyes and the mouth for clues. Each time I tried to see if the pupils had a wee sparkle or were dull looking, or had a softness as opposed to a "hardness", if that makes any sense. Also, I think that the very, very corners of the mouth will not smile up as easily in a fake smile as it does in a genuine smile. :chin: Though, of course, I'm just guessing here - talking out of my arse, as they say! :chuckle:

I wonder if men or women score differently?

Yeah, I'd be kinda interested in that stat, I guess. Dunno why, though.

In my opinion that test is rigged. There's just no way I could have gotten 8/20. Like Bey I missed the genuine smiles.

Well EZ and bey - just goes to show you that cynicism doesn't pay - even if crime does. :yup:

I got 16/20.

I actually use the cheecks and eyes. The fake ones scrunch up too much and just stay like that.

It's a useful skill for poker.

Yeah, it's tough to do when you're a guy. :P
