Not sure where such a question would belong so I'll just put it here.

Just curious how many/who are fellow Candians here.

LOL, oh and Godfrey, I'm from central Saskatchewan, probably about three and a half hours from Moose Jaw.

One guy I think said he was from Regina. LOL, we're probably related in some way (I got lots of family in Regina). :D

Did you like it? That's pretty much where I live.

I do business with Canadians up in Yellowknife and Saskatoon. I'm also a huge Nunavut fan. And I pretty much envy Canada in every respect. Thought about doing grad school up there - best Ukrainian studies departments this side of Ukraine.

But, no, sorry, no Canadian in me.

Yes; I visited friends I met while in Australia. It was a good time! I've got to run now or I'd post more ... reply to remind me

I just watched Canadian Bacon last night. As a Floridian who is often onslaughted by slow moving old Cannuks, I just chuckled. That said, if Condi wins 2008, I seriously might wanna move up there, spare my son from an inevitable war on terror draft. Go CANADA!!!!

I have dual citizenship with the USA and Canada, and I just received my Canadian citizenship card in the mail a few days ago. They told me it would take 8-10 months for my application to be processed, but instead it took less than 2. Whoo-hoo! I love Canada! :canada:

I don't live there, though, and will hopefully be moving to North Carolina with WinAce soon.

Sweetie, I (mis)spent most of my youth up north of North Battleford. Turtle Lake region, if that means anything to you. My grandparents on both sides, and my parents, homesteaded around Greenwater Lake and Marean Lake -- not far from Porcupine Plain. I've had plenty of family in Saskatoon: an aunt, some cousins, and a nephew at the moment.

Now I live in Ontario.

Never went to NB much, PA mostly and Regina and those areas. We go up to Candle Lake in the summer, it's way cool.

Now I live in Ontario.

Whereabouts generally?

A family friend just recently moved there, Professor of Criminology but saying the city would give too much info.

My cousin is in Hamilton working on her Doctorate in Sociology I think. I may make it out there one day.

(Sorry if I get some University terminology wrong, not familiar with the lingo.)

I'm trying to get into University starting September! :woohoo: I'm seriously excited by the prospect!

Everyone on my Mom's side of the family is from Windsor, which supposedly makes me 50% "French Canadian", if that means anything. All I've seen of Canada is Windsor a couple times and Mississaugua for a few days on business once.

Growing up a mere ~90 minutes south of Windsor, I visited there a time or two when I was 19 and 20. Doesn't Detroit count as part of Canada anyway? :) And I've been to Stratford to watch some plays. Add in a stint in Toronto and a brief trip on your side of Niagra Falls and that's the extent of my Canada excursions. Like Beth said though, it's looking better and better all the time...

I'm half Austrian-Italian, my Great-Grandfather and my Grandfather on my Mother's side both immigrated to Canada.

Might have some French Canadian in me too, there's some reason to think it. :chin:

I'm half-Canadian. I grew up in Montreal until I left to go to college in the States. Sadly, I haven't made it home yet .... <sigh>

My father currently lives in Victoria, BC. I grew up in Detroit and played a lot of hockey in Ontario as a kid. Tampa Bay, Florida, is where I played hockey as an adult, though.

I've driven most of the Trans-Canada Hwy, from Victoria, BC to Sault Ste Marie, ON (through Banff, Moose Jaw, and T'under Bay), and from Windsor, ON to Sydney, NS (ok, so part of that is the 401. :P).

My only Canadian connection is the week I spent in Calgary testing a new computer system my company ordered, but I would move there in a minute, Saskatoon, even. I'm really tolerant of cold and like winter sports. I think I'd fit in just fine.

Kensloft and koan are Canadians. Didn't know that there were that many Canadians here. It's almost like listening to the Irish claiming that everybody wants to be an Irishman

It explains the inherent high quality of the board membership?

Or the need for a :hockey: smilie?

Uh-oh...now I've done it.

I think the worry was more about our British-built submarines, which seem to work fine until they're placed anywhere near water.

Makes you wonder why we were willing to part with such fine vessels, doesn't it?

Actually, it's a pretty neat engineering trick to build something that bursts into flames when immersed in water. (Setting aside building it out of hot magnesium, say...) The inventiveness that brought forth British plumbing and the Hillman automobile must be admired!

Eh? what was that question? Yep, Canadjun.

Another Saskatchewan born ex Saskatchewanian living in Ontario. There are at least 2 of us apparently.

Recognized all the places mentioned so far - lived in ...Lethbridge, Saskatoon, Regina, Grande Prairie....if I name any of the small town names someone would be able to pinpoint who I am IRL (although I doubt it would make the news).

Probably will retire back to Alberta or BC somewhere. Alberta has the nicest tax climate, and BC the nicest weather.

Spring here this year SUCKS. It hasn't even thought of arriving. I'm getting pissed at slush, wet roads, snow, wet roads, wind chill, icy roads, minus anything temperatures, more wet roads, more slush, more snow, more wet roads, wind chill warning, ...sunny day but high of minus 25 (well, that was last month). So if some woman from Fla., Victoria BC, or San Diego, or almost anywhere in California - proposes to me I'm out of here. My wife can find someone else.

I know that sounds kind of heartless. Maybe I'll bring her and we can have a menage a trois and if she doesn't like it then it would be her fault...right?

Right. Actually, coming up to 30 years of wedded bliss. Not sure I can stand the excitement.

Canadian. Yep.

Sooo many people end up in Alta. I want to move somewhere but I have no idea where the hell I would want to move! If I moved I might end up somewhere where I'd have to lock my doors and actually have a lock on the garage. :D

No kidding! My husband has been sitting in Texas for three days or so, he calls me, "is it ok if I mention that it's +30 here?," lol.

Man, it was warm for a week or so, +7 but now we're down to -10 and we're freezing our butts off. The warm weather lasted just long enough to get everybody sick and we get to enjoy it so much while we're freezing, lol. I got three kids down.
