He has really pretty eyeliner around both eyes but I can't get him to hold still for a proper portrait. I got a nice one on Grady's phone but he's at walmart right now buying cat food.

We have Bacon and Toonses in the reserve, but I think we've settled on V.
:aww: It looks like his face has some orange in it. Or is it just the lighting?
I guess there's a little orange in his colors, especially in the face, but not as much as it looks like in the picture.
Kitteh! How old is he? He's not a tiny kitteh, but he doesn't look grown up either.
I think he's about 5 months old. I'll ask the vet when we see her.

V (a.k.a. Pusspuss, a.k.a. Pusspockets, a.k.a. Pusskittle, a.k.a. Pusskittlepockets) is the snuggly-uggliest cuddlebug I have ever had the pleasure of cuddling. He hasn't left my side or my lap since I brought him home.
Skills include sleeping, being underfoot, playing with toys, sleeping, not scratching the furniture, not holding still for photos, sleeping, and going number one in the box. He hasn't gone number two at all since he got home, and I'm nervous that that must be giving him a tummyache. Poor baby.

They can hold it for a while when they're under stress. I wouldn't worry about his tummy yet. Is he eating normally?

Oh man, catching them drinking from their actual water bowl is like hunting snipe. Now, taps, bathtubs and sinks are a whole other thing.

Second that.
Mine waits in the bathroom for a human visitor and when one enters, he positions himself near the spigot and looks needy. He expects humans to fulfill his needs....which includes food, water, door-opening, laps, and petting on demand. Laxity in any area will lead to a full paw claw as a reminder of my lowly level in the household heirarchy.
We installed one of those running water cat fountains. He loves it, but we must be careful to clean it regularly...not doing so can lead to unwelcome health results.

We have poo.

It went right in the box where it belongs, so I feel safe leaving him home alone while I go to walmart. FOR MOAR CAT STUFFS! Spoiled ass.

Hey...My chickens love my laser pointer.
They chase around the point of light, evidently thinking it is some tasty insect.
Hobbes, on the other hand, can't be bothered....that's 'kitten stuff'. Or...chicken stuff.

So cute!
The kitten in my backyard has boots, but they'd be hip length ones. No name for him/her as of yet, just 'the kitten' for now.

V for Vendetta (2005) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434409/)
5th of November refers to Guy Fawkes who tried to blow up the British parliament in the 16th or 17th century (the Brits still celebrate the foiled plot on that day, Guy Fawkes day).

YouTube - Fifth of November Poem by V
He's at the doc today. He has to stay overnight, and I miss him already. :girlcry:
livius drusus
09-01-2009, 03:32 PM
It's the first line of a poem about the Gunpowder Plot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunpowder_Plot) -- a failed attempt to blow up parliament on November 5, 1605 -- recited by the character V in V for Vendetta (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_for_vendetta). V wears a Guy Fawkes mask and plans to finish what Guido started.
eta Bah, too slow.

Cute kitty, congrats :)
It's a reference to the popular British nursery rhyme (http://www.rhymes.org.uk/remember_remember_the_5th_november.htm) about the Gunpowder Plot.
It is also a reference to V, the film, which uses the reference throughout.
Hence, my throwaway puns, "What a Guy!" and "Fawkes news reports".
Ensign Steve
09-01-2009, 03:36 PM
:duh: I got the Guy pun when you made it, but not the Fawkes News one until just now.

Okay, that explains it. I was and am totally without knowledfe of the V for Vendetta reference, therefore couldn't fit new kitteh named V with a Guy Fawkes poem.
Ensign Steve
09-01-2009, 03:39 PM
V's original family named him Victim, because he apparently has a letter V in the markings in his forehead. I don't see it, but when we heard it we immediately latched on to V (for Vendetta) as his new adoptive name. Victim wasn't appropriate, as he was the only one of his litter not to be run over by a car or be the victim of some other horrible accident.
Watser?

I see what might be construed as 'V' markings on his forehead. Two white lines run up from the bridge of his nose to the back of his head in a long, narrow 'V'ish pattern.
Also, I just finished reading V for Vendetta. It's a much different story (and better, imo) than the movie.

...the gunpowder treason and plot....
LOVE that movie (it rates #4 on the top ten list for me!) Now might have to read the graphic novel...
Glad to hear the kitty knew where to deposit #2 after all, that must be a load off (no pun intended).
Voilą! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villian by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengence; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

Shamelessly stolen from VG Cats because it's so darn appropriate.
