OOPS - accidentally deleted some Needed Software - HELP!!!

HI All,

I have accidentally deleted some software for a Video Controller (VGA Compatible) on a friends computer - only neither of us know what it is. All we get now is a message that there is new hardware detected.

Windows XP cant find the drivers needed.

Thought it might have been for her webcam but we reinstalled that software & had no luck, also we reinstalled the software for her LCD Screen - still no luck.

Anyone got any ideas?? Im a desperate woman!!!!!

The video controller is either a separate card or integrated on the motherboard. Do you have any of the software that came with the PC originally? That would be the easiest way to reinstall the driver, probably. Otherwise we'd need to know a lot more technical details about the type of system you're working on.

Most likely, a video controller would be your VGA card. Or the on-board graphics, depending.

Seriously, it says nothing about the type of hardware detected? Nuts. I guess I can't improve on vm's suggestion and point about needing more technical info.

Ditto. I'm off to get the little blossom soonish, but when I get back I expect some see more info regarding the exact motherboard and video card she has. If you need to me to and she allows it, I can set up remote assistance.

I HAVENT been playing with the sisters computer!!! (not that she would let me anyway).

I'll have to get more info - but after talking to Luna I tihnk we might be on the right track!! WOO HOO!!
