View Full Version : Temporary Change to Quick Edit

The recent upgrade of the forum software left us with a minor bug in the Quick Edit feature. The problem was if you use e-mail notifications of new posts, using the Quick Edit would automatically unsubscribe you from the thread.

So for the time being, I have added a "subscribe" checkbox to the right of the Save Changes button in Quick Edit. So if you're subscribed to a thread and you want to retain your subscription, leave that box checked. But if you're not and you don't want to be, uncheck that box.

Hopefully I'll find a solution to the bug eventually so it stops messing with subscriptions altogether when you use that feature.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

This is completely unacceptable.

Okay, okay. I uploaded a laugh, dammit. Now you have to fix this quick edit thing which is quite the abomination for those of us who love quick edit and never subscribe.

I finally found and implemented the fix for this, so I've removed the subscribe checkbox.

God, that was torture. Any chance of some crappy threads coming out of the almost physical sense of relief? Cause that's a-okay with me. :crossed:

I scoured the 'net for a solution numerous times, as well as posting twice in the hack thread at the vBulletin site, but to no avail. After Blake brought it up again last night I did another Google search, and this time found a post at the Tivo Community forums wherein a guy had come up with a fix for it. :yup:
