I implemented quite a few optimizations on the server in the last 18 hours, so there should hopefully be a noticeable increase in the speed of the forum for everyone. On the other hand, the possibility always exists that you might encounter glitches depending on your computer settings, etc.

If you have any problems or notice anything strange, just let me know. :)

I couldn't get in first thing this morning, but everything seems hunkey-dory now.

Ja, I had to reboot Apache several times. You probably hit on one of those. Sorry!

I think you managed to fuck up the forum completely. I have been unable to post at all today in any thread. In fact I can't access a single thread. Oh yeah, I haven't been able to get the forum to come up at all. Some kind of fatal error warning comes up. You probably should go back over what you did and undo it. You bastard! :glare:

Joke taken too far? :chin:

My sincerest apologies.

I believe it is an unwritten law that all banana smilies are to be considered humorous in undertone no matter what their expression. This law also applies to turnips.

No, no. It's not about the banana, it's about the context. A sadbanana can sometimes be a truly sadbanana, but when used in response to mock condemnation it should be assumed to be an acting banana. :slide:

Fascinating, Professor. Does this apply to the sad cheerleader as well? How about to the classic one-two punch of the happy followed by sad? And most importantly, is the angrynana ever really angry?

No, the :sadcheer: is always a sad girl. Boys should not use her. The classic one two punch of  :sadnana: is almost never found in the wild. And :angrynana: isn't really angry, he's just an asshole.

I think the professor is talking out of his :asshat:.

Where exactly can this list of rules and nuances be found?

It's all safely stored away up here. :nutty:

It's all safely stored away up here. :nutty:Ah! Only the admins on a forum have access to the "arbitrary and capricious" rules database.

And yeah, I gotta ask the same question livius did regarding http://skeptech.net/emotipad/cache/BananaFuck2.gif: What girl banana? Looks like a banana humping a fish to me. And who knows if the fish is likin' it -- fish always look like that.

Not to derail the derailment or anything, but the forum is running great for me. The difference in speed is very noticeable indeed. Great job, vm.
