Just what I've always wanted!
Pissing away a couple of thousand dollars on concrete flatwork for the public to walk past my access to the street. Oh yeah, baby...make me do it.
Not that I didn't know it was coming....I planted a katsura tree in the parking strip some fifteen years back knowing that I would pay for it. Well, that time has come. This event came about at this time because 'The Wedding House', the old Steele mansion, the home of 'The Pansy King' at the end of the block, which has been serving as a rental facility for functions, had a water pipe problem which necessitated tearing up the city sidewalk....about six to seven months ago. It's still a pit in the walkway, with warning tape strewn about. That finally got complaints to bring out a city inspector. While he was there, he inspected the entire block face....that included my place.
Ah, well...like I said...I knew it was coming. I hope I can salvage some 'stepping stones' from the rubble of the walkway to be hauled away, which I can then use for pathways in my back yard.
