It would be awesome if we could have a handwritten thread, where we all judge each other based on handwriting. Especially that crazy European handwriting.

I wrote sloppy to fit in. Not really. This is neater than my usual handwriting.

It took me a long time to scan that in, I bet this is a really slow response thread.
Maybe we can start a mail chain!

It's supposed to be 'jumps' not 'jumped' - otherwise we don't get to see the letter S. This is a common error!

Suffice it to say that I have beautiful penmanship and the only reason I didn't get first place in second grade it that Becky Kirwin's parents were very, shall we say "involved'

How lame is it that more than 20 years later I've got a stick up my butt about the fact that Becky stole my thunder. Pretty lame.

Yeah, I once was the "sample" handwriting is several penmanship workbooks and lesson plans for Scott Foresman & Co. I've fallen a bit from my previous standard, but a few minutes would be all it takes to brush up on the skill.

Like most others, in normal life I use a mix of cursive and print, and I also have developed a very neat block print I use for addressing, and for instructions to others (when I don't want a blockade between my intentions and another person's need to interpret my writing).

It's very nice handwriting, and easy to read PW.

Well I wrote slower than normal and tried to make it legible. When I'm writing at top speed during writing sessions, sometimes I can't read some words. At writing practice when I read out loud and stumble over my own handwriting, it's downright embarrassing.

ChuckF

I think it is at least a little interesting that a lot of people seem to think their handwriting is worse than it is. I still think my handwriting is worse than most in this thread, except for one person's (it's Naruto), and I also think that people who say they have bad handwriting write perfectly legibly. Like curses has fine handwriting. I mean it's a little girly, kind of like she restrained herself from dotting her i's with hearts just for this thread, but it's perfectly legible.

So far though I think PW and Brotherman win my best penmanship award. We'll have to wait until the end of the year to see who gets perfect attendance.

Qingdai

Curses almost has American girl handwriting. I'll try to get a sample of one of my students, it's over the top girly.

I think the one thing I can say about everyone's handwriting is that it looks much better when you aren't using paint, or whatever that program is called.

Chris Porter has a great example of Palmer. Darn professionals, mucking up the averages.

Ha. They handed me manuals on Palmer to practice with before I started the job. I don't know if Palmer is even taught anymore. I was in my early 20s on that job, I think, so that would be over 30 years ago, perhaps.

My average handwriting is pretty legible, too, but a lot like other people's here.
