The opening ceremony so far is pretty cool. Not as epic as Beijing, but awesome.

The Aussie reporters are a lot less inane than the NBC idiots.

I wish I could listen to the Aussie guys! The NBC guys are really irritating.

I'm a total Olympics junkie, even more so with the Winter Games.

Lindsay Vonn was injured, but that's probably old news. That's all I know without following it.Her events have been postponed until maybe Wednesday, giving her an extra few days for recovery. They didn't postpone it for her, it was because it was raining at Whistler.

Have I mentioned yet this year how much Bob Costas sucks? Good lord, guy, if you're going bald or gray or both, just go with it, brown is not a hair color, it's a shoe color. Oh, and if contact lenses are going to make your eyes bug out like that, maybe you should break down and get some stylish eyeglasses. That and shut the fuck up when you don't know what you're talking about. I know, I know, pot, kettle, black.

Demimonde

:giggle: Last night we played freeze Costas's face and make scathing comments. Unfortunately timed pauses on a DVR can make even the prettiest people look like freaks, but with Costas's it was epic.

Ah yes, those are what we call 'hard g'. In the southern provinces of Brabant (which is where I'm from) and Limburg and in Belgium they speak with a 'soft g'. Major difference.

Is Vancouver the Olympic apocalypse? Death, no snow, leprosy, someone not doing a quad winning gold in men's figure skating, when will it end?

Wait, a flesh-picking minute, leprosy? (http://www.timescolonist.com/health/Leprosy+diagnosed+Olympic+security+cruise+ship/2588817/story.html)

Ooops...

The biggest blunder of speed skater Sven Kramer's career cost him a second Olympic title and handed South Korea's Lee Seung-hoon the most unexpected gold medal of the Vancouver Games on Tuesday.

Favourite Kramer was disqualified despite posting the fastest time in the 10,000 metres after failing to switch lanes properly, an elementary error unprecedented for a skater of his stature at the Olympics. nrc.nl - International - Kramer disqualified after posting best time (http://www.nrc.nl/international/article2490919.ece/Kramer_disqualified_after_posting_best_time)

It seems his coach pointed him to the wrong lane.
