Gear Acquisition Syndrome that is...
Went to Guitar Center today, and spied a used 2002 JEM7VWH for $1399 right next to a brand new JEM7VWH (the new one was $2099, had a rosewood fretboard instead of ebony, and had the new bridge with the non-locking trem posts. </guitar geek> translation: the old one is way better than the new one.)
Minor wear on the gold plating, but, eh, that was going to happen anyway. Next to no fretwear, whover had this before me didn't play it much.
Without further ado, my new pimped out guitar:

This should do it for awhile for me on the guitars, I hope.

It's very pretty, GW, but you'd probably get more views on this thread if the title didn't hint at a fart joke. :D

I dunno, I jumped in figuring it was about flatulence!
Whatever my expectations, I am not disappointed to see an amazing guitar, though I know almost nothing about guitars! It's a good acronym; I might reuse it to describe a state of mind I am sometimes subject to: Gem Acquisition Syndrome.
Any chance at a sound clip?

That's ever so pretty. I love those art nouveauish vine inlays on the neck.

I spent that much money on sand, gravel, and rental equipment (jackhammer and skid-loader) this past week. What do I have to show for it? A front porch formed up and ready for concrete and no potholes in the driveway.

Well, not that guitar, as I just got it and haven't recorded anything with it yet, but there is some stuff here from a fairly similar guitar:

I'm SteveC there... there's a couple of weird chopped-up "remixes" there that other people have done. Weird to hear yourself playing stuff you never played.

Hey, those were fun, thanks. That sounds like it would be quite a workout! The remixes were interesting, but I think I preferred the first one (guitar only).

So I made a recording with the guitar pictured above (sounds pretty similar to the previous clip -- pretty much heavy metal thrashing -- so fair warning.)
But, just in case you like that kind of thing....

Hey, I forgot to come back to this thread last night after listening to the mp3. It's great, Godless Wonder. Painter and musician, you do stuff I like!
