Intercourse the Penguins? No thank you I like penguins. You can however intercourse the Red Wings all you want. Every time I try to catch a NHL game on TV the Red Wings are playing.

I'm sorry, but hockey does not belong in San Jose, California (although the Wings look finished).

Intercourse the Penguin would be a great name for a childrens' cartoon character.

There's something wrong with hockey being played during baseball season.

Almost as wrong as some retard talking about baseball in a hockey thread.

I'm a huge Habs fan, but honestly they don't belong in the conference finals. But then, neither do the Flyers or the Bruins, and one of them will be there. (The Bruins, most likely.)

My take is that it's a stretch to imagine Montreal taking out Pittsburgh; but if they do, it'll practically guarantee that a team from the West will win the Cup. Right now it's hard to see any of the four teams in the East beating any of the four teams in the West -- with the empirically possible exception of the Pens, and the metaphysically possible exception of the Habs, whom God in His goodness loves above all others.

Hmm ... how to respond to this "intellectual" retort:

1. durrrrrrrr............ well, takes one to know one.

2. Who the fuck asked you?

3. get the fuck out.

4. stfu.

5. <serious response involving discussions about the weather and the how the current post season situation forces the hockey season into a time of year when the sport was never meant to be played, etc.>

6. Don't reply. She's not worth it.

Hmm ... leaning towards #6, since the first ones are mean, and #5 might be too complicated.

I would go with #7 Don't reply unless you can come up with something witty and amusing.

Because I'm pomo like that.

He's certainly right about the bizarre officiating. The two examples he mentions led to Pittsburgh goals, but I thought the most blatant non-calls were on Goligoski, who clothes-lined Gomez at the Pens blueline, and a mind-boggling sequence near the end of the third in which two Habs were tripped within seconds of each other on a scramble in front of the Pens goal, but a tripping penalty was given to Mathieu Darche. (This was the point at which many fans decide to re-gift the cheering towels they were given at the start of the game.)

4-3, and the fact that Mad Max's fabulous goal stood up as the game winner makes it all the sweeter.

I don't dare hope much for a game 7 win, but it sure would be a beautiful thing.

I would like to note that I called the fourth goal. My whole family was downstairs watching with me when the Habs took a penalty at 3-0. As they were getting set for the face-off, my nerve-wracked silence gave way to an outburst that scared the crap out of the kids. "Shortie, right now. 4-0, game over!" Thirty seconds later... BAM!

Goodbye Penguins!

Today's useless trivia: I read somewhere that Graham Chapman improvised the (in)famous "Intercourse the penguin" line in the Monty Python sketch, much to John Cleese's surprise. If you watch the sketch, you can see Cleese quickly stifling a surprised laugh.
