Of course, that's the Roman God, Janus (god of beginnings and endings) for whom the month of January was named after (ending of one year, beginning of the next). He was always shown that way.

Speaking of which, it has always struck me funny that Janus (or Janis) is a woman's name when it originally was a male god's name. The female version should be Jana, I would think. I've met some gals named Jana, but many more with the name Janus or Janis.
