We may or may not already have a thread about fun learning projects to do with kids, but

a) I don't know what it's called or what words to use to search for it
b) This is more for straight-up play than actual school-learnin'

That's pretty awesome.
Lightjet printers work in a similar way, although with a lot more precision. They take standard c-print chemical photo paper. A digital file is sent to the printer and three lasers, one red, one green and one blue expose the light sensitive paper. It is then processed in standard photo chemicals. Some printers can even create slides and negatives from digital files.

That glow screen and blueray laser could easily be turned into an example of the double slit experiment.
