View Full Version : Your Favorite Creative Handle Mutilation

You know when someone inadvertantly misspells your handle? Or when they do it on purpose to fuck with you? As long as it's not something feeble like using the wrong case (I'm :glare:ing at you Crumb), I get a big kick out of that kind of thing.
My favorite was when Apostate Abe called me livius dreyfus. :giggle: I'm also loving latin's recent LisaShea thing. I picture some horrible gene splicing/cloning accident creating a lisarea and LadyShea combined into one being of immense power. It boggles the mind, doesn't it?
Do y'all have any favorites along these lines, either done to you or someone else?

On another board, I'm "Ferrous Lepidoptera" Someone once called me "Ferris Buelleropedia" another time, "Iron Bofo"

I want a new handle.
No one ever misspells mine, inadvertently or intentionally.
Hmm...now I'll have to think one up.
When latinijral gets mad at me, he calls me Skeptupid. :D I love getting him riled up. :D In the old days at JREF, Franko was great at mutilating handles. For example, Upchurch was Upchimp and Joshua Korosi was Joke you are Carouser. :D

Upchimp? Jeez... I would've gone for the obvious: Upchuck.

Hmm... Nobody's come up with "lividass"?
I note that there are those, JoeP amongst them, who are using gorfry for me... I'm surprised nobody's made it to "gadfly" yet.

 Oh man, that Ferris one is priceless. Did you feel honored? No, not really, I didn't know the guy well, it was obvious he just didn't remember what it really was and couldn't be bothered to look it up or type it all out, so he used a humorous made up butchering that would be recognizeable.
Once when I was with a friend driving around in Washington, and we got somewhat lost (he was at the wheel) I said "Nice job, Suckagawea." (I'd been saving that one up for a few years.)

That's usually just a mistake, though. When they're trying it's Vicious Mammaries.

I rather enjoy the thought of being mind melded with lisarea. We could be even more frigthtening than MegaBarbaraStreisand.

Yeah, I liked that too. Made me wonder if there was actual conflation involved, if it was some underhanded accusation of sockpuppetry, or just general headfog.
I don't usually get any interesting ones online. People call me liserea or lisarae or something boring like that. "Lisa Pea," though, came from a sloppy replacement birth certificate, an actual real name mutilation. It was handwritten, so I couldn't tell if it was actually "Pea" or just "Rea" with an abortive R, so I just decided to use it as my secret crime identity.

My favorite was when Apostate Abe called me livius dreyfus. :giggle:
And the variant, livius doofus . . . combined with "scooty" for "scotty" which then became "scooty doofus" for a while. That really made me laugh.

Well I mean if you call yourself 'Crumb' you can't get much lower. Same sort of rationale as why infantry call themselves grunts.
You have labelled yourself an insignificant speck of nothing and we respect that.

Occasionally my handle gets changed/mutilated, and it comes out "Pookie Cuddle Bear."
I've never understood why..... :chin:

Cause if I was a chick I'd be hot. But I'm not.
I shave my legs anyway though.

I try to avoid the temptation to use known irritations like Livius Drusus or LD. But sometimes it's apt and necessary. I like to exploit the typos like gorfry (come on, people, it has a ring) and unknowing errors like LisaShea. Actual creative mutilation? We'll have to see.
Sorry, elder, nothing comes to mind. And I agree, there's not much you can do with Crumbo.

I hated when someone called me Mrs. T.
My favorite is when I called livius - livius drivius.
That was just accidental, the words livius and drusus have no meaning for me and nothing to identify them with so it was just a memory thing I guess. :P Seriously though, the closest thing to drusus is drifus and it had crossed my mind before, lol.

I think livius drusius was a roman bloke who advocated giving Italians Roman citizinship (and the rights that came with them). I think he was killed in the end.
But I may be completely and utterly wrong - all those Roman names sound the same to me :(

Another one from JREF... A poster, 1inChrist, is being called 1inCh by a number of folks. :D

I have a feeling a lot of the chicas think you are hot in spite of your masculinity.
I got called Jahsucksme once, I had the handle as Jahrulesme. I'm even in WinAce's Christians say the derndest things site.
Other than that, I never had someone screw up my name. Maybe someone called me Beth le ham once.

Occasionally, when people try and spell copiae, they adopt the cop[random combinations of i & a]e approach (occasionally with a few e's thrown in for good measure).
For some reason, I find that to be funny, in a good way :).
I had someone call me Coan. It wouldn't be funny except he called his poems "To Coan" parts I and II and professed his love for me. You'd think he'd at least remember my name if it was true love
