I don't wear socks. I'm a dog.

Yeah, what the shit?
I hang on to them until I self-ban in a fit of glorious shining pique, then I get new ones when I come back and need a new set of pretend yes men.

As long as you have a matching pair with no holes in either sock, I think they're worth hanging on to.

Trick is not to wear them that often.

Since I only own black socks all of the same brand, I have evolved past the need to care about PAIRS of socks.
Pairs of socks are stupid and gay 20th century artifacts of the throw-back times, baby.

Although I am not lisarea, and I don't make old radios, I chose that option because I use old socks for stuff.

This has the ability to be the greatest thread FF has ever known.
oh, and one hole in both socks and it's time to bin them.

I have like three distinct kinds of socks, and I keep each kind in its own jumbled pile. Pairs? What's that?

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack fungi on fire after liberal application of tough actin' Tinactin. I watched popped blisters glitter in the dark near the Flexor hallucis longus. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Bah! Socks! Tires are where it's at!
Once more it falls to me to educate you poor deluded sub-intelligent peons. One would think that after all the light I've shed for you, you people would learn to see for yourselves.

Some assholes just they're all hot shit because they have two socks, like it's some kind of an accomplishment or something.

I dunno what you people are talking about, dogs can wear socks:

I throw away socks when they get holes in them, but save the other one. When I have two matching socks that way, they get paired up and put in the drawer for use.

I only wear sandals. Not the la-de-da mandals-type, I'm talking kick-ass, march through Persia, wear-to-war kind. Well, except I have the cobbler make them without hob-nails, because I fell on my ass that one time at the gym, plus merchants scream bloody murder when you scratch up their floors.
Socks are for people with ugly feet.
Apparently five people on FF are lisarea.
I knew it :glare:

If it's a pair of socks, then I would probably wait until both had holes, or one of them had a big hole (a hole like .5 cm across wouldn't be enough).
For socks where I have a bunch of the same kind, I throw one out when it gets any significant hole, since I don't keep them as consistent pairs.

I'm torn. There are two pop culture responses and I don't know which to pick.
Don't you wish you were hot like pea?
I'm a pea-er, she's a pea-er, he's a pea-er, wouldn't you like to be a pea-er too!
Honestly, I'm leaning on the second one. Mostly because it's an old jingle. Like pea.

I've got delicate hands feet. I wear socks that are delicate and rip easily. They are nearly disposable for me.

They're like uteruses for feet.
They provide a protective environment for feet to grow in for nine months?

You don't have my option.
I keep my socks until I buy new ones. The old ones could be in tatters and I'd still wear them if I haven't bought new ones yet.
But if I buy new ones and the old ones are still good, I may keep a few of the old ones, but then I'm more particular.
How do I decide to get new ones? Well, that's another thrad now, isn't it?

I doubt the so called canine contingent in this thread. After interviewing several dogs they responded unanimously that the actual answer is: "when my people steal it and I can't get the lid off the trash can."
As for me, my socks are retired when my canine overlords dictate such.
I like this thread.

When looking over my credit card statement yesterday I made the shocking discovery that I have spent $100 on bamboo socks in the last month. No wonder I had to cull otherwise acceptable socks to fit everything in the drawer. I seriously need to stop.

I'll quit wearing them when they don't work well enough to prevent blisters or uncomfortable rubbing, but then use them for other purposes (dusting cloths especially, they just fit right over your hand! Screw "Swiffer" disposable dusting cloths!

They make good miniature heating pads, too. Just fill an unmatched sock with rice, tie off the top, and nuke it about a minute in the microwave. Toasty!

He said none of the interventions would be in English, as it would be unlawful to "address US audiences" with such technology, and any English-language use of social media by Centcom was always clearly attributed. The languages in which the interventions are conducted include Arabic, Farsi, Urdu and Pashto.Because REAL Americans don't speak THOSE languages.
