Heard this evening that an ol' mate, Ritchie Pickett, died. I've been proud to call him "Friend" for the last 27 years, and he was something else, let me tell you! He was wild and wonderful, with a quick wit that would keep you in stitches for hours as the wine, schtoog and jolly repartee played so wickedly on the tongue and cerebellum. Fuck, he was great - and so cheeky with it. A mighty fine songwriter and musician too.

He was only 56, but did he ever pack some crazy living in to those years. He's a colourful story (http://www.glenmoffatt.com/ritchie_pickettbio.htm), that's for sure. If only the book hadn't closed so soon... :deepsigh:

RIP, Ritchie. It's been a privilege knowing you. And damn you were fun! ...miss you already... :sadcheer:

Rest easy, bro.

Thank you for sharing him with us. It is sad that he is gone, but it is uplifting to hear that he lived a life that brought you and others joy and love. It is best to celebrate who he was and what made him great. This footage alone shows his wonderful talent. You are lucky to have known him and we are lucky to know you.

I'm so sorry for your loss - it's hard to lose a friend. And 56 is way too young to die.

Most words are inadequate in situations like this. Sorry isn't enough.

Do everything you can to keep his memory alive.

Sorry Cliche.

I was going to say that I hope you get to rest in peace soon, but that might across wrong. :D Celebrate his life and sleep well, when you can.

:chuckle:

That's something he'd quip.

Thanks, guys.

Incidentally, some of you may remember me occasionally moaning about my old flatmate, Paul, in Hamilton? He's the one on drums in the '90s breakfast tv clip of Chameleon.
