So I thought I'd start a thread to share the joy with other arcade junkies :). I am working my way busily through all the games right now and have decided that the only one I am even remotely good at is 'Squid Hunter'. Oh well.

Any chance of adding arkanoids if I could find a good free addition of it on the net? (and it just so happens..! :D).

Oh dear... Well, ya see, the vB Arcade actually requires conversion from a flash file. Theoretically that conversion requires permission from the author (although in practice that happens far less than it should) and it also requires coding ability that as far as we know, neither vm nor myself has.

I'll look around and see if I can find a converted Arkanoids, but the odds are not good. The main source site went down a couple of months ago for repeated copyright violation. :giggles:

I just regained the squid hunter championship!

Of course, it normally takes Ray about 45 fucking minutes to take it off me again..

I tend to excel at games that no one else is interested in. Then, on a rare occasion when someone takes an interest in it, I get squashed, and some ensuing flip-flopping occurs, etc. Case in point: Balloon Hunter. I own most of the top scores, except for the top one, which I've been working at for some time now. The other case is Boxteroid, which is mind-numbingly simple -- probably why no one's taken a real crack at it yet -- where I've recently extended my lead.

There are only a few games I haven't at least tried, but few that I've devoted any real time to. I recently moved into the top 10 of the 12 Babes of xmas, but that's not hard to do.

LOL I found boxteroid appalling tricky! Not my thing at all. And I am no good at balloon hunter either .. I lack coordination. I tend to be good at things that require fast reflexes, hence I am good at squid hunter and I think i could prolly do quite well at pop up killer if I tried.

Some of those games just require staying power though :). I played 'stuart' for the first time today and really, all you would need to do to become champion of that would be to stay awake long enough.

Pacman is one of my favourite games out there too but unfortunately someone holds the pacman title so securely that there's no chance I could get near it.

Yeah, I take back what I said above. This one sucks! If I had a real controller or if it was more like real Arkanoid, that would be cool. The sounds are really annoying too.

That said, it really does suck. I was a freakin' Arkanoid master in the arcade. But trying to keep that damn cursor low enough to not be distracting but not so low that you go out of the window and lose control of the paddle--while whipping left and right at top speeds--is just impossible.

Big Wave, on the other hand, is yet another amazing Yeti game. :)

Well I wasn't meaning to be rude about the new arkanoid when Liv went to the trouble of getting it for us! I don't like to look a gift horse in the mouth. Although if I did .. I'd say it sucked :(

Just takes practice. Also, you know you can use your keyboard right? Took me ages to figure that one and when I did, my score rocketed (I shouldn't have told you all that but honestly compells me to admit that the reason I hold most of the top ten is not cos I am brilliant but cos most of you haven't read the rules :D).
